He married Betsy Blundy, born 9.10.1847
James was a blacksmith at Screddington, Lincolnshire, but moved to Gainsborough, and had a blacksmith forge at the packet landing on the Trent. He lived in Albany street, then at 51 North Marsh Road, and much later, Betsy lived in the almshouses in Gladstone Street.
