Sarah and George do not appear on the 1861 Census. We know George was still alive and assume he was working at Laughton, but do not know what happened to Sarah. Was she in service, or did she die?
Ann Popple, listed as a widow of 82 – Pauper, born South Kelsey, was also living with them on the 1861 Census, maybe she was maria’s Mother?
