| Here at the MAINE INDEPENDENTS WEBHALL, we believe in the hope of an America in which each and every man, woman and child born within her borders or naturalized by due process of law should have every opportunity to govern their life as they see fit, free from oppression by a hateful mob, an angry neighbor, a pompous congregation, a foreign menace and most especially a self-serving government. We believe that in our sacred constitution and laudable history can be found the spirit, and the means by which such an America can be forged. But first America needs a wakeup call! From coast to coast, from the bustle of Wall Street to the tranquil plains of Montana, a dark specter of apathy hangs heavily over the minds of the American people. Ambitious politicians mollify us with promises of security even as they hold the door of our borders open for our enemies to flood in. The free exchange of information and ideas is silenced and censored by a two party system which feeds on mediocrity and �niceness�. With each passing day Washington Fat Cats commandeer more of our golden liberties in the name of �homeland security�, �the common good� and �equality�. Yes, Washington has sold you out.
