| One of the most thrilling times I remember was when John Longdon had his last jockey ride aboard George Royal in the San Juan Capistrano turf race at Santa Anita Park. After the finish of the race it took about 10 minutes to determine that Longdon's horse had won by 1/16th of an inch after the end of the 1-3/4 mile race! And best of all I had a nice winning ticket to cash in! |
