!! MATZO CUBE !!

FunWithMatzo (TM)

Introduction:

Matzo is a medium never before exploited for artistic purposes. For centuries, Vincent Van Gogh, Pablo Picasso, and countless others have utilized paint to create breathtaking images. Leonardo da Vinci and others have exploited the properties of marble and granite for sculptures of grandeur.

Perhaps there's only so much one can accomplish with paint and stone.

Matzo provides the medium needed for realizing modern-day sculpture. For centuries, matzo remained a undiscovered medium. One reason may be its inconsistent nature and lack of regularity. Years ago, if you went to a local baker or art supply store store and asked for matzo, you could never predict what you would get. The advent of the matzo-making-machine has turned the world upside down. Regular, constant thickness matzo can readily be obtained. Gone are the days when inquiry for matzo at an art store brought strange looks. Matzo has proven itself to be a viable and beautiful medium for sculpture. Matzo art is here to stay!

Construction:

Materials:

6 pieces matzo
5 feet duct tape
4 feet dental floss for hanging
2 crazy college students
Patience

Directions:

  1. Obtain matzo and verify that the sides are all the same length
  2. Carefully apply duct tape inside to hold the basic shape together
  3. Once five sides are together, the final piece must be attached by means of striping the four edges with tape
  4. Go back and stripe the other eight sides with tape
  5. Before the last piece is attached, insert a piece of cardboard tied to string if hanging is desired
  6. Finish taping

Images:

Picturesque View

Note the beautiful texture and "burn scars"

Although the string is visible during the day...

...at night, it floats in mid air!
