Crack Sealing Pavement

Crack sealing pavement is an important maintenance process to your asphalt parking lots, drives and walkways.

We work on cracks 3/8" or larger in width. The cracks are opened up by mechanical routing and then blown out with compressed air. This assures a clean bond to the sides of the crack.

We then apply hot rubberized asphalt at 310°F to the crack. We level off the rubber and apply sand to prevent pickup by vehicular or pedestrian traffic. The repaired area can be driven over safely in a few minutes time.

This process is not recommended for an area that has extensive or alligator cracked areas. A rule of thumb is that if you have over 25% of the square foot area of the lot in linear feet of cracks, then it is more cost effective in the long run to consider a major repair rather than crack sealing.

Example: 100' x 100' lot = 10,000 sq. ft.

25% = 2,500 L.F. of cracks
