| Humans are animals. Yes, that is a fact you already know. However, I do not believe you really understand what I'm trying to tell you. See, animals do not live by any rules. A wild animal is free from any law enforcement and free of any government association. This is the way nature intended life on Earth to be; free. Instead of living with our given freedom, we humans chose to live thier lives built around rules. We have civilized ourselves and entered the unnatural world long ago. As animals, we naturally strive for freedom. Therefore, we have a natural temptation to break rules. This simple little experiment I set up for you was designed to help me prove this point. Because you are reading this now, I know you thought one of these three thoughts when you saw the icon: 1) "What the fuck? That's weird" *scratch, scratch* 2) "Shut up, I'm clicking it anyway" or 3) "hmm, I wonder why I shouldn't..." *click* Of course there's always the possiblity that you misread the icon. If that is so, then just play along. Animals naturally do whatever they want to. Whether you thought about it or not, you clicked this icon because of the wild animal trait inside you. The only thing that would have stopped you from disobeying my rule is if there was a heavy price to pay for doing so. If I threatened to charnge youa nasty fine, or throw you in prison, you most definitely would not have done it. Let's face it, the only reason why you don't commit the crime is because you can't or don't want to do the time. Morality you say? Morality is the reason why you are not a criminal? Well, if laws and rules were alien to you, would you really have morality? Would you be able to tell right from wrong? Or would you even care what is right and what is wrong? The answer is no to all of those questions. Think about it, morality is the product of you parents telling you what to do, your local law enforcement telling you what to do or your teacher educating you on right from wrong. I have a situation for you: You are driving your car along a highway that you know very well. The car you are driving has a good amount of muscle. Now, the highway is open, not a single car stands in your way. You are also absolutely positive there are no speed traps on this stretch of road. The speed limit is 65. How fast would you go? Well if you are anything like me, you'll press your foot on that accelerator until the car goes as fast as it's merry wheels will go 'round. Unless you have some incredible fear of driving, I know you will do the same as I. When the threat of punishment is removed from the action of breaking a law, humans naturally see law as unimportant and therefore they will not abide by it. |
