CSN
was formed, in 1991, as a result of the ground breaking 'zine, City
Slicker, which promoted graffiti from underrated cities. These cities
(Pittsburgh, Philly, Oakland, Cleveland, D.C.) were the homes to
some of the most influential writers of today. Espo, Enem, Dream
and Buda to name a few. The original members of CSN, Seak, Havok,
Esp & I, conceived the idea for such a 'zine, and then we produced
it with a word processor and xerox machines. After the 'zine was
complete, we promoted it locally, and in no time it was being distributed
coast to coast (and in London) by Tower Records. But sadly, after
the premier issue was so enthusiastically received we at CSN got
too drunk, too high, and too lazy. There was never a second issue.
(Check out Seak M.A.C.'s site for online version of the 'zine. Look
on my links page.)
A
love for graffiti, a genuine interest in promoting the underdog
and grass roots entrepreneurialism was and still is at the core
of CSN Consolidated. Our members here still carry on the tradition
of CSN to this day. I would like to take this opportunity now to
say that if it was not for these men doing what they do best, the
face of graffiti would not look as beautiful as is does today. Also,
I would like to say thank you to those listed here: Serg, Force,
Seak, Havok, Prism, Necs, Esp and Sesk, for being very influential
in my own personal development as a writer and an artist.
Word
up guys,
Matt
Seven
(There
is not an Esp page because I don't have any good flicks, but I'm
trying to get some.)
