My Summer Rig
2006 1800 ProV IFS w/ 150 Verada & 9.9 Pro Kicker
It doesn't take a new, pro-level boat to catch fish.  However, for me time on the water is precious and I didn't want weather or mechanical trouble to take away from the chances I do get.  I've been blessed with a budget that allowed me the boat above, but shopping smart also helped.  I purchased the boat, motor, and trailer as a holdover.  The depth finders were also non-current when I purchased them which resulted in getting them both at half price.  A few weeks ago I purchase a VHF radio, again at half price.  By being patient I've been able to rig this boat the way I wanted it at a much more affordable price.  I've always taken pride in how my boats are rigged adnBelow I've tried to break down how I rigged this boat.  I hope it benefits those of you who take the time to rig your own boats!
A VHF radio is not something I use very often.  However, I wanted the capability to check weather and occassionally monitor the local traffic without having something constantly in the way.  Below is what I came up with.  The unit mounts below the driver's console and is out of the way of your feet.
