Today was my birthday and the weather cooperated so we hit the river hoping for a strong winter bite. The temps stayed in the high 20's, but we fought a stiff wind coming up the channel most of the day. We fished out of the c-liner today and boat control wasn't quite what was needed for dragging jigs. However, we did manage a few nice fish, with the biggest being a 20" sauger. The clear water is changing the bite to a morning/evening bite and slowing things during the day. Traffic at the ramp is still very slow.
