My 1964 Ford Falcon Sprint |
|
|
|
Here are a few Photo's I took during the resto-modifying of my 1964 Ford Falcon Sprint. I bought the car back in 1990 and it was in very rough shape. It had to sit in storage for 9 years until I hade the time to work on it. I have made several upgrades and modifications along the way. |

This is the dash after I refinished it. I painted the plastic parts silver so they look like brushed aluminum. Then I inlayed the rest with real walnut vaneer from a cabinet shop. It took forever to do but only cost about 20 bucks. |

Here's a shot of the car after it had been stripped down to bare metal and epoxy primed. I also added 15X7 Crager wheel with a 4 1/2 inch backspace so they would fit in the rear wheel wells. |

This is a close up of the dash around the gauge cluster. The wood and silver tend to match well with the red interior. |

Here's the console. Because my car has a toploader out of a mustang, the shifter is mounted to the rear. I modified the floor and console so that the shifter comes out through the tray section, and I topped it all off with a rubber boot It looks factory to me. |

Here's the engine. It's a 289 that's been rebuilt and modified with a few goodies. It's got an aluminum intake, small Holley 4 barrel, and headers. This is all hooked to a dual 2 1/2 inch exhaust with glass pack mufflers. It sounds great and really starts to come alive at 1500 RPM. Another modification that is visible is the Geo power brake conversion |

I bought a complete new red interior for the car because the original was so bad. I re-upolstered the seats myself and they came out better that I'd expected. When it's complete, the interior will all be fresh and new and, of course, RED! |

Here's the car after the body work was complete and I had applied the high build primer. Since I did all of the other work on the car, I though why not try painting it myself too. I'm glad I did, I gained a little experience and can say I did ALL the work on the car. This was also a budget job, and couldn't afford a high end paint job, that would be worth more than the car anyway! |

Here's a shot of the back end. Somewhere in it's life, someone replaced the 64 tail lights with 65's I like them better anyway. I'm not quite finished with the rear "Sprint V-8" panel either, but it looks allright for now. |

Well, here it is, my 1st paint job. I decided to paint it in a single stage enamel (cheap!). I decided to try painting it Black and am happy with the results. It has some orange peel, but that also hides the not-so-perfect body work that Black tends to show off! It's not a perfect job, I didn't think it would be, and I don't claim it to be anything it's not. When I set out on the project, I wanted it to be more GO than SHOW anyway. Don't get me wrong, It looks great, and is Blacker than Black and looks pretty menacing allready. |

Here's the front end so far. Bit by bit I'll put it back together. I polished the grill and blacked out the dividers again so it looks pretty good now. |
