I. God's goal in creation was and is to glorify Himself. For
through creation He makes His glory known.

How does the creation of man magnify God?
What does it mean for man to be made in the image of God?

II. If God acts for His glory, why is He not selfish?
A. His glory is of infinite worth.
B. What can God do to show Himself most loving?

created us for His glory?

A. Why did God choose Israel?
B. Why did God raise up Pharaoh? (Romans 9:17)

C. Why did God rescue Israel?
- For whom is God acting?
- For whom is God acting?
- See verse 32, is it for their sake that God acts?
D. Why does God save anyone?

F. Why does God send missionaries?
V. God's commitment to His name--Our hope.
A. Why does this give us hope?
VI. If God is for Himself, how can He genuinely love us?
A. If God is for Himself, He will want to display His character.
B. Part of God's character is love. Because He wants His glory (character) to be known, He manifests His love for His people.
VII. How does this truth impact our walk with Christ?
A. Our prayers
B. Evangelism/Missions (Romans 1:5).
C. If God acts for His glory, should we act for any other reason (Colossians 3:17)?
