I never had the chance to listen to your cries.... I never had the chance to bring you home that day.... I only had the chance to watch them take you away.... I never had the chance to rock you fast asleep.... I only had the chance to see an empty cradle and weep... I never had the chance to teach you all I know.... I only had the chance to bury you deep down low.... I never had the chance to keep you warm at night... If only I had the chance to hold you close and tight....
