I still remember looking into the star filled Kansas sky, these words
forming in my mind. I had been re-reading "Einstein's Universe" by Nigel Calder
so I had many thoughts of physical theories rattling around.
It's one of those "laugh at yourself or go crazy" moments.
Just Stare.
-MRW 2 August 2002
Neck bent back,
Staring up into the black.
The universe so vast,
Telling of our past.
Why so big, we always ask.
Is it some elaborate mask?
Of course some groan,
When we ask are we alone?
Then it all came to me,
The answer, you see.
Focus on what's here,
So your problems become clear.
We're shielded from out there.
...Or you can just stare.
