About the Monkey
key in the Middle
Even though there are lots of pictures of Samuel on our
website,
they only provide a glimpse of what our little boy is really
like.
So, in order for you to know him better, below is a list
of
what it's like to be Samuel and part of his world.
Samuel
will be two years old on April 10, 2006.
His
favourite books are anything Little Critter, The
Very Hungry Caterpiller and books that have lots of pictures to look at.
His
favourite toys are cars, trucks, PlasmaCar, tool
set, ball tent and a variety of stuffed animals.
He
looks forward to Daddy arriving home everyday.
When he hears the garage door open, he runs to the window to catch a
glimpse of the car driving in the driveway and then runs to the top of
the stairs and starts calling "Daddy!!" He can hardly wait for
Daddy to get inside and upstairs and give him a big hug.
He
is starting to say words, but still mostly
communicates through his signs and noises. He can even string
sentences together. For example, "Daddy put the bug down the
toilet" is something like "Daddy" - sign for bug - noise for toilet.
Samuel
loves to help with chores. He helps unload
the dishwasher, dust, sweep the floor, put the socks away after they're
washed and is eager to help with anything involving Daddy's
tools. The only thing he still hates is the vaccum........
He
loves to go outside to play and is a willing
sidekick on walks and runs. His new favourite thing to do outside
is to go downtown to the outdoor rink and shuffle around with his
boots on.
We
think he has a memory like an elephant. He
never seems to forget things and is quick to point out if something is
not being done properly. If we take a different route somewhere
in the car, he promptly points in the direction that we should be going
instead.
Samuel
is a very loving little boy. He gives out
lots of hugs and kisses, especially to babies.
He
loves to anticipate visits from Nana and Papa.
He watches out the window, waiting for their truck to arrive and never
wants them to go home.
He
listens intently to all our conversations and will
repeat things we have said, even though we thought he wasn't paying
attention.
His
favourite foods are pizza, spaghetti,
cheeseburgers, cookies, ice cream, chocolate, bananas, apples, oranges,
strawberries, blueberries and yogourt, peas (even frozen), broccoli,
sweet potatoes, pancakes, sausages, eggs benedict, fries with
ketchup....... and he will pretty much eat anything else that we give
him.
He
still naps everyday and seems to enjoy the break.
He
loves to look at pictures of himself over and over
and over and over again.
His
favourite television program is Sesame Street,
although Jeopardy is a close second.
Samuel
is our
pride and joy - we couldn't imagine our
lives without him :o)
