| Was a little surprised to find this flower growing in northern Wisconsin. It is primarily a plant found in the dakotas and the great plains. Ranchers in particular hate this member of the pea familymemebers of the pea family (Fabaceae) as it contains a toxic substance that affects an animal's muscular control and may impair its vision. What's worse, once an animal tastes it, it will begin to avoid all other plants and search out this one. | ||||||||||||||||
