Crayfish as Pets
Me and my first crayfish pet.

Here are some tips on keeping crayfish.

Keep the crayfish aquarium outdoors. I once brought some crayfish inside and one escaped. He somehow climbed down the staircase and was advancing towards my sister's pet bird.

Don't buy any food for your crayfish. Instead,
wait until some deli meat goes bad and drop
that into the aqaurium.

Make sure the crayfish have plenty of rocks
or logs to hide under.

Limit your aquarium to 3 crayfish per square
foot of horizontal space. They are very
territorial.

Name it!
"Look out, lady! I'm very territorial!"
Crayfish make great pets. They will provide you with all the  love, attention, and entertainment you get from good friends. Plus, if they get boring, you can eat them. The crayfish, I mean.
For your benefit, I have compiled a list of plants and animals that you should get for your crayfish aquarium.
- freshwater sunfish (some are very colorful)

-
mad tom catfish (lookout! They are poisonous.)

-
freshwater clams (root around in the muck for these)

-
freshwater snails (you'll find them attached to rocks)

-
turtles (but NOT box turtles! Eastern painted turtles are best)

-
assorted aquatic vegetation (it's best to get it right from the river)
