 ABSTRACT

   This file contains some details about the progress of the developement
   of Alexis, which is a distributed XML and database editing program

 SOME HISTORY

   sept 2002
    The idea for Alexis was conceived, by N. Reddel. 

   around about march 2003
    The server component for Alexis was rewritten. Instead of a custom
    protocol, WebDav was used with Apache 'slide' and tomcat.

   july 2003
    Alexis reaches a useable stage, lets call it Alpha. It has resource
    locking, pop-up tag context sensitive tag menus, CSS styling of the 
     XML editor window, remote folder management, XML schema validation
    (but no DTD validation)
