This day was full of disappointments.  Joel Barnes and I left Greeley around 8:00 am heading for Russel, KS.  We had too much faith in the SPC forecasts and hung around up north (warm front) for most of the early afternoon.  By the time we took our heads out of our asses and headed for the DDC area, many tornadoes had already occurred.  We did however get a glimps of a distant tornado at sunset.  And then the hail began to fall...and fall..and fall.  Storms persistently fired on a boundary positioned parallel to the highway.  We did receive some minor hail damage as golfball+ sized hail fell on our location.
