Race Results

May 15th: All Nite Street Drags at CFR.
Start: No Qualifying, Random start
Finish: 4th of 36 cars.
    With a sour taste in my mouth from April 18th I went to CFR on May 15th with no expectations. My goal was simply to win the first round and see no more Red-lights. I far exceeded those goals though as I wound up competing for the purse that night.
    I arrived at the track around 7pm and went through technical inspection right away. I pitted next to Matt Lee and Dan, fellow "Little Fat Kid" members. Around 8pm time trials started. There was around 75 cars which showed up for the night and the stands were packed. Time Trials ran all nite long with different races mixed in. I made 4 runs but my times were not as consistent as I would like, there was a .250 variance in my times.
    At 1030pm the bracket race began. I raced a Neon SRT-4 right away and won with little effort (silly neon, what was he thinking). I had done what I wanted, won the first round. My lights were good all nite long also, something which I had problems with at the last race. In round two I raced a Chevy Malibu who races quite a bit during the year. We had a double-breakout that round, but he was a lot worse than me, so I advanced again.
    Now most of the bad cars, and some good ones, were gone. I lined up with a Barracuda this round. He red-lighted but I still beat him to the stripe (barely) , so I would have won regardless. Now I was into the Semi-Finals!! Only 4 cars remained and I was one of them. I was lined up with a Cream-Colored 67' Chevelle. We flipped for lane choice and I lost and took tower side, which was not my strong lane. We raced hard all the way to the stripe and I lost by .0022.   I was proud to make it to the semi-finals though, I exceeded my expectations. I watched the Final and then went home, it was 1230am now. Next race is Club Clash 7 and with some wins under my belt I feel like I'm ready to go.
