Bio = Ryuu-Kami is an artistic girl who has no idea on what life out side of the box really is like. And no matter how hard her friends try they cant seem to ruin her innocent mind. And they never will be able to either. She has a little white mutt called sparkie and a fawn boxer named dozer. Sparkie likes to bark at everything and dozer likes to lay out in the sun (and chase the evil little squirrels that through nuts at you when you least expect it). She likes to draw and write short stories about random things. Like how the chibis will one day take over the world and we will be forced to work on cookie plantations. Any way, maybe latter Ill add more to my bio. till then Bye bye.
The young Sesshomaru paced the hall out side of his mothers room. His silver main flowed out behind him along with his fluffy white tail. He stopped to listen, but didnt hear anything through the thick, carved, wooden doors. He continued to pace. Where was his father this time? He knew that his father had taken a human mate even though he was already mated to Sesshomarus mother. He growled softly baring his glimmering teeth at the wall. The wench had already given his father a hanyo son, which he had named Inu-Yasha.
Sesshomaru glowered at every servant that rushed by. A year after that whelp had been born his mother had tried to prove to his father that she was better then his human mate. She had become pregnant. Now Sesshomaru hoped that maybe, just maybe he would have a true brother. A brother that was not only a full dog demon, but also worthy of being a member of the inu clan.
He heard panting from his mothers room and he spun around to see that the door was slightly agar. He peaked in just as his mother gave one final push. After a few seconds of silence there was a soft wail from the small pup. Sesshomaru watched as the pup was wrapped in a warm cloth and handed over to his mother. She smiled weakly, her sweat soaked hair pulled back from her face. She held the child close to her and started to whisper softly in its ear.
Sesshomaru felt a slight pressure on his shoulder and he looked up startled to see his father. Sesshomaru felt an instant of hate towards him but backed away form him to enter. He watched as his father walked slowly towards the bed. His mother didnt look up but he could see her whole body stiffen. He knew they were going to have a fight. So he hastily backed up out of the room and closed the door. He leaned up against the solid frame and let out a deep breath. Maybe his father might leave his human and come back to them because of the new pup, Sesshomaru thought to himself. After a moment of playing with this idea he shook his head and closed his eyes. No, no he wont. The logical side of his mind told him. He has been blinded with love for that wench of a human.
He walked over to the large pillow that had been brought up for him and sat down preparing to meditate until the door was reopened. He didnt have to wait long until the door was thrown open and his father stamped out red with anger. He looked over at Sesshomaru almost apologetically then turned towards his quarters where his human was. He walked hurriedly away turning a corner and disappearing from sight.
Sesshomaru stood up for a moment wondering if he should go in to see his mother. He was thinking about this when a small, female, imp came out frightened.
Master Sesshomaru-sama? Your mother has asked for you. She asked quietly. She says she must speak with you.
Sesshomaru looked at her with a cold stare. Something in the servants voice indicated that something happened. He glared angrily for a moment thinking that his father might have done something. He nodded towards the frightened little servant girl then walked into the large, beautiful room. Her room had been decorated with some of the finest paintings, silks, the rarest flowers, and artwork. He walked quickly over to his mother, who was still holding the pup in her arms. He could tell she had been crying because she was still shaking and her eyes and cheeks were red. He stopped at the edge of her bed and just watched her silently. She looked up and smiled warmly.
Come here my son. I have much to tell you. She said in her soft musical voice. She pushed back a loose strand of silver hair and carefully laid her hand next to her small pup.
Sesshomaru stepped closer and laid his hand hesitantly on his mothers fragile shoulder. Mother? What is wrong? he asked not sure if he wanted to hear the answer.
His mother looked down at her newborn pup and sighed almost resigningly. I know how much you wanted a full brother, but I do hope that a little sister is alright. She said very softlyand weakly.
Sesshomaru looked at his mother stunned not sure how to answer. He looked down at the small bundle and saw the soft, sweet face of his new sister. Yes he had wanted a true brother. But he already loved his little sister. He looked up into his mothers tired face and smiled reassuringly.
Sesshomarutherethere is something else I need to tell you. She said slowly. She looked away from her son and at the curtained window.
Sesshomaru looked up at his mother wondering why she was acting so strange. Then it hit him. Mother. Mother? What is wrong? he asked growing worried.
Sesshomarus mother looked back at him tears coming to her eyes. SesshomaruI am dying my son. She said weakly, her face paling ever so slightly.
Sesshomaru looked up into his mothers face almost sure that he could see the cloud of death. He looked down at his sister and anger swelled through him.
His mother saw the anger and covered her daughter. Sesshomaru! It is not her fault. I was dying even before her. I have been dying ever since your father left. It is not her fault. She said trying to calm him.
Sesshomaru shook his head and smiled slightly. I know mother. I am just upset that is all. He said assuring her that he was not mad at his sister.
His mother smiled and held her daughter out for him. Would you like to hold her? she asked smiling softly.
Sesshomaru looked down at the small child and reached out carefully. Are you sure I should hold her mother? She is so small. He asked, carefully reaching out for her.
His mother smiled and settled his sister in his arms. I have decided to call her Ethril. Her mother said laying back against the pillows. And I must ask you to promise me that you will take extra good care of her. She is very special.
Sesshomaru nodded towards his mother then looked down into full, intelligent, deep, golden eyes. Ethril looked up widening her eyes as if reading his soul. Sesshomaru frowned, babies, no matter what breed, did not have such deep eyes. He felt his mothers small white hand lay across his shoulder. He looked up at his mother and smiled lovingly. I swear to you that no matter, what I will take very good care of my little sister.
His mother nodded and closed her eyes. Thats good to hear my son. Very good to hear. She murmured as she fell into a deep sleep. Now be a good boy and let the nurse maid take care of her. She needs a nurse maid right now.
Sesshomaru nodded and reluctantly handed his sister over to a small frog demon much like his personal servant Jaken. The frog demon bowed and took Ethril cooing softly.
Sesshomaru looked up at his mother worriedly. His golden eyes glimmered with his worry as he watched his mother fall asleep. He leaned over and kissed his mother on the forehead and whispered softly Goodnight mother. And may you sleep well. He looked down at his sleeping mother and saw the small smile that played on her lips.
He turned and walked out of the room and closed the large doors behind him softly. He turned towards the nearest servant and motioned towards him. I want you to stay here and watch my mother. If anything happens I want you to notify me at once. He ordered severely. The servant nodded and opened the door silently and slipped in shutting the door behind him with a soft click.
Sesshomaru looked at the door for a few moments then sighed. He turned and walked towards his own rooms. Once he was inside his rooms he walked tiredly over to his bed and crawled in. usually demons were never tired, but today he had a good excuse. He rolled over and looked up at the ceiling. The ceiling was made from a common tree, but when burned just right a swirling pattern would appear on the wood. Sesshomaru followed the swirls over and over until he drifted off into a dark, dreamless slumber.
He felt himself being shaken from his sleep. He slashed out and heard a small cry of surprise. Mmmaster Sesshomaru-sama please forgive me, but you told me to report to you if anything happened to your mother. The servant cried out as Sesshomaru sat up. He glared daggers at the servant for a moment. Well? What do you have to tell me? he asked he face becoming his cold mask for the millionth time.
The servant squirmed then said in a quiet voice I am sorry to report but the mistress has died in her sleep.
Sesshomaru stared at the servant shocked for a moment then jumped to his feet. WHAT?! he yelled at nothing in particular. The servant shuffled away from him murmuring apologies. Sesshomaru ran out of the room and straight to his mothers bedchamber. When he slammed the door open and rushed in he saw his father sitting next to her holding her hand his eyes closed. Sesshomaru grew angry for a moment. He shook for a moment with anger, but he took a few short breaths to calm himself and only then did he notice the human wench that stood behind his father. He growled loudly at her then turned preparing to leave the room.
Sesshomaru! his father said standing. But it was to late Sesshomaru had already left the room and was walking towards the small chambers that were off to the side of his mothers. He opened the door careful not to slam them in case his sister was asleep. He looked around and saw the nursemaid rocking her carefully in her arms. Her sister was whimpering softly.
He walked over to them What is wrong with her? he asked trying to get control over his anger.
The nursemaid looked up not surprised to see him Well master Sesshomaru, one moment she was sleeping peacefully and then the next she was crying hysterically. She looked down at Ethril frowning slightly. It was almost if she she stopped not sure is she should continue what she had been about to say.
Sesshomaru looked down at Ethril and raised his cold mask again. It was almost as if she had felt our mother leave this world. He finished softly.
The nursemaid nodded and they both watched her as she fell asleep to the soft rocking.
Sesshomaru looked down at the scrolls he was supposed to finish reading and sighed warily. Being the lord of the western lands was harder then it seemed. He stood up from his desk and walked over to his large balcony where he could view most of his lands and his extensive gardens. His castle was situated on top of a hill that was very near the center of his lands. He looked out and leaned against the railing. Life had become hard after his mother had died. But it had only been a few months when his father had died and the entire western lands were turned over to him. He sighed and looked out towards the east where supposedly his half brother hanyo was said to be. Rumors had it that Inu-Yasha was in a human village helping a priestess. Sesshomaru frowned. It really wasnt surprising really, since Inu-Yasha was half human.
A soft breeze sprang up and tugged at his long, shinning, hair. He closed his eyes and just listened to what the wind had to say.
Then the sound of a happy, giggling girl reached his ears. His eyes snapped opened and he could see a flash of silver and gold in the middle of one of his many gardens. The flash ran behind a rose bush just as an elderly frog demoness came into view.
Young mistress, please come out! You know you are not permitted out at this time of day. Besides you still have to finish your lessons. Called out the demoness. Sesshomaru watched slightly amussed as his sister Ethril stifled her giggling and ran towards another garden. Her watcher went searching in the opposite direction so Sesshomaru was forced to follow her himself. Ethril really wasnt allowed out in the gardens with out a guard. Even with the shields and all the warding spells Sesshomaru was still very protective of his little sister.
Sesshomaru looked very carefully and saw the flash of silver and gold hair hear one of the many ponds. When Ethril had been very little her hair had only been silver, like her mothers, fathers and both her brothers, even though she only knew of one. But as she had grown her hair started to gain golden streaks going form the center of her head down to the tips of her hair. Sesshomaru frowned slightly. Another strange thing about his little sister was that she grew much slower than was normal, even for demon standards. He never told her of her strangness because he saw no reason to. She had never left the castle and she had never seen any of the guests so she never knew of anything except of the servants and her oldest brother.
Sesshomaru landed softly and watched as Ethril spun around free for the moment. He watched her as she reached up and plucked one of the thornless roses. He watched as she skipped towards the pond and tried to catch the slippery fish. She was still a child. Sesshomaru smiled lovingly for one of the few brief moments. But his smile faded as he saw her look down into the water her face turning sad.
Why cant I catch one of you? Why do you swim away from me so fast? she asked innocently at the fish. As he watched one of the fish swam slowly near her. it looked right up at her through the water and swam in circles. Ethril smiled and giggled slightly. Thank you kind sir for coming to talk to me. She said giggling. And how have you been since I last saw you? Sesshomaru watched entranced as the fish swam in complicated circles. Aww I seewhat if you ignore him? Would that work? she asked as if she were actually talking to the fish. She stuck her finger into the water and ran her finger carefully across the fishes scales. Is that so? Well then I hope you get your problem resolved. She smiled and lifted her finger out of the water, but as she did so the fish bit her finger. Ethril winced and cried out. It seemed that the fish wasnt an ordinary fish. Why did you bite me? she asked backing up holding her injured finger. Sesshomaru was about to take a step forward when the water started to boil. In moments the water turned red and instead of a fish, there was a young demon boy with orange hair.
I bit you because you wouldnt stay. He said grinning evily at her but now you will stay. With me that is. He took a step towards her and she backed up into the thornless roses.
Sesshomaru growled and jumped out of hiding and grabbed the lowly fish youki around the neck. And what do you think your doing in my pond that happens to be in one of my gardens that is in the middle of my lands? he asked ice dripping from his words.
The fish youki struggled trying to say apology after apology, but Sesshomaru wouldnt hear it. No one frightens or tries to kidnap any one in his family. Sesshomaru held him in the air his eyes filled with rage. He heard a soft cry in front of him and he saw his sister looking up at him scared. Sesshomaru growled and threw the demon to the ground. He raised his hand and hit the fish demon over the head knocking him unconscious. Sesshomaru turned back towards his sister replacing his rage with calmness. When he looked at Ethril she cried out and ran to him hugging onto his arm.
Sesshy-san! What happened? Why did he attack me like that? she asked clinging to him. Before he could answer he heard gaurds coming from the main path. Within seconds three demonic guards had entered the small garden and had tied the fish youki with ropes. The fish youki moaned and the gaurds lifted him up onto his feet.
What shall we do with him my lord Sesshomaru-Sama? asked the leader.
Sesshomaru thought for a moment then turned to his little sister. He attacked you Ethrilwhat do you want done with him? Sesshomaru asked calmly.
Ethril looked down at her healing finger then looked back up at her brother. Cut off the tip of five of his fingers, then cut off one of his ears andshe looked down thinking carefully.
Sesshomaru watched his sister as she thought so carefully about a good punishment. Then how about we put him in the dungeon for a week? After that we can send him out towards the ocean. Sesshomaru suggested quietly.
Ethril looked up still clinging to his arm. Yeah. Send him to the dungeon. She looked over at the fish youki (who is still unconcouis) and glared for a moment. Sesshomaru had to fight not to smile because of how funny his sweet little sister looked glaring.
Alright you heard her, take him away. He ordered the gaurds. They snapped to attention and dragged the fish away. Sesshomaru looked down at Ethril and frowned. You knowthis wouldnt have happened if you had listened to you watcher. He said unemotionlessly. Ethril hung her head sadly.
I know. But she is so boring, and all I do all day are lessons. Lessons and more lessons. She looked up at him with her deep golden eyes. Did you have lots of lessons when you where little Sesshy-san? she asked in her musically sweet voice. Sesshomaru smiled slightly and nodded Oh yesand I did all of them when I was told to. I didnt skip a single one. Ethrils eyes widend as she watched him. She frowned and grew as serious as a child could.
Then I wont skip my lessons either. She declared to her brother. At that moment her watcher came around the bushes and into sight.
There you are young lady. And I see that the lord had to find you. She walked over to them and bowed low. Thank you for finding her my lord. She just doesnt seem to like her lessons very much you see. The frog yasha said.
Dont like my lessons? What do you mean I dont like my lessons? I love me lessons! So Come on I dont want to be late for any more. She said tugging at her arm.
The frog looked at Ethril astonished for a moment. I dont know what you did my lord but it seemed to have worked. She said being pulled by the young inu demoness.
Sesshomaru watched as Ethril pulled Gamako after her trying make her walk faster.
Sesshomaru sighed and sat down on a white stone bench that was next to the pond. He looked up into the sky, his golden eyes thoughtful for the first time in awhile. What to do next? He thought to himself.
