The
Ultimate A-Team Site! was created by and for fans of the 1980s television show “The
A-Team.” The site’s mission is to
provide enjoyable, interesting, A-Team related content to fans of the show. Some of the content on this site is provided by
other A-Team webpages; see the links page for a full
listing of contributors. The Ultimate A-Team
Site! is a proud member of the A-Team Webring and gladly shares its content with other
A-Team related pages on the Internet—all we ask is that others acknowledge our
contribution.
A Brief History
of The Ultimate A-Team Site!
First thrown
together in the winter of 1997 on a whim, The Ultimate A-Team Site! went through a major
renovation during the summer of 1999; new features such as a bulletin board and mailing
list were added and the soundbites and image galleries were greatly expanded. We also became associated with online merchants
who sell A-Team paraphernalia, including apparel. The site chugged along nicely for some time.
Then in April of
2001, the entire website crashed inexplicably. Yahoo
Geocities, the site’s host, lost all of the site’s files; technical difficulties
originating on Geocities' servers inhibited the upload and creation of any new files. As a free service, Geocities’ customer help
was (and is) practically nonexistent. In the
end, we made the hard decision to start anew: resurrect a better site by piecing together
material stored across several computers and online sources. In May of 2001, we also
decided to procure a dot.com (www.ateamsite.com) to give The Ultimate A-Team Site!—and
its fellow A-Team fan sites—greater visibility on the World Wide Web. Despite our
unfortunate experience, Geocities still hosts the site.
