README
======

Well, it's complete. It took seven (well, six) days to write,
and i've got it finished. This is the first RPG that I've
completed, that I can release anyway, and its the first playable
game I've completed too!

The actual code, graphics and script took about four days, but
beta testing and selecting the XP you need to gain levels took
the rest of the second week, but when I finally got to the end,
and fought the boss in battle and saw the ending sequence work
flawlessly (it was the first time I tested it with the battle),
it was really a fucking brilliant feeling.

I've learned allot from this project, mainly about completing
games. Now that this one is done I know how to manage my time
to finish others, namely Ellinda. It's really been a worth-
while experiance.

Anyway, the engine started out being really well coded, and
twards the end I started just to hard code in data, and forget
my structure, so this is not the best example of RPG code...
But of course you free to use any of it if you wish.

To do the graphics for this game, they had to be in 16*16 sprites,
I had to resurect an old editor of mine which could handle
custom sized sprites, fix it and then use it.

The pallete was the only thing I got done on the first day of
the competition, and just to add a retro feel I only used sixteen
colours in all the sprites and tiles, even though I was in 256
mode. I think the graphics turned out quite well bearing
this in mind.

The game should take between one and two hours to complete, this
is because I had to be able to beta test it myself and I couldn't
afford a five hour game.

The instructions are pretty simple:

If you are presented with a selection and with numbers next to
each heading, type the number to make a selection, the same if
it has function keys (F1, F2 etc).

During the game up is up, down is down, left is left, right is
right, enter is scroll to next message screen, escape is quit.
Pretty standard.

RE Photo Graphics in the game:

This game features some photographic graphics (Title screen,
death screen). These pictures were all in the public domain,
so I used them. They are as follows:

conspiracy.jpg	-	the main girl in the title pic. It was
up for download on a bikini kill site,
			I changed little bits.
leaumecloseupblue.jpg -	the girl in blue in the title pic. It
was a free picture from the gothic
photo site rosegarden of whores (www.rose
			gardenofwhores.com). There was a copy-
write notice on the pic, but it got
			blurred out.
passion -	the girl on the death screen. This is
actually a picture of Shakira, with 'die'
added onto her forehead(s) in PSP. I got
			it from www.shakiramusic.com.

This game is also being released under the Electrosoft Lable.
Electrosoftcorp is the company I am part of (headed by Kyper). Our
page should be available at http://www.electrosoftcorp.cjb.net,
but I think the site is down.

Anyway, expect more great games from there!

Hmm... What else...

Ohh yeah:

Email me on what you thought about my game PLEASE! I get no email,
and they'll take my account away if no-one sends me anything!

This game was written for DarkDread's 4 day (extended to 7 day),
mini RPG competition. The full set of rules are available at
the Darkness Ethereal site. It was completed friday 25/10/02,
before midnight (actual time can be found in the history file).

I kept a detailed log of everything I did, look if you want to,
it's not very interesting.

This game also takes refernces to the slipknot song wait and
bleed, I'm crediting them incase they sue me. The original
lyrics are part of the title. The game takes it's name from
a line in the song.

Well, thats about it.

I really fucking hope you enjoy this game, I'm gonna upload it
once it hits six o'clock,
