| My Heart in Black and White By Cyndi Hotopp A little square of black and white A sleeping baby, eyes shut tight Hair and skin now rendered grey "This is my child" I proudly say The tiny picture isn't made just Of ink and glue and bleached sawdust But of hope and dreams and fervent prayers And the loving grace of a God who cares I grimace at the paper chase Then gaze with longing at the face I close my eyes and see it yet ANd remind myself to never forget - This babe who waits in another's keeping Is the answer to my passionate pleading The glorious Creator of Heaven and earth ]Has turned bitter tears to joyful mirth My heart is now in black and white Until the day that home's love light In living color will unfold My babe, my child, at last to hold |
| This poem was written back in 1998/1999 when I was still waiting for my Emily. Back then, all referral photos were little black and white photos and videos were not done. It still brings a tear to my eye when I read it. |
