I developed my interest for butterflies in my early childhood. I remember how my father brought me a box of butterflies made by his friend, when I was in second grade primary school, that's about eight years old. It was the most beautiful and interesting thing to see for me. It was the coincidence that in the same year the entomological society of Slovenia arranged a large exhibition of insects, which I also visited. I met there the most important person considering my passion for moths and butterflies, dr. Jan Carnelutti. His great understanding for primary deep interest for nature (and butterflies) of amateurs resulted many new amateur members. He invited me as well and so I become a member. That was in 1974.
From that time I must express my deepest gratitude to him, guiding and educating me about studying butterflies from early collecting of beautiful specimens to understand the importance of knowledge of nature to which we depend.
My main interest now is to research the moth and butterfly fauna of Kamnik area.
