The first week of May in a town nearby there is an Apple Blossom festival. It attracts crowds near 600-700,000 strong, maybe more. It is about 5 days of festivities including 2 major parades with national celebrities, like Dan Akroyd, Chevy Chase, Ed McMahon, Dolly Parton, bunches of sports people and lots of others. Some of the activities include a carnival, Clyde Beatty Circus, jazz festivals, lots of luncheons, lots of dances, a 5K race, arts and crafts all over the place, a midway down the middle of down town with food, food and more food and games, a sports breakfast, and 2 great parades. On Friday evening is the Fireman's Parade. If you love firetrucks you can't miss this one. Then on Saturday is the Grand Feature Parade. The Grand Feature Parade is one of the largest parades on the eastern seaboard in numbers of entries. It takes about 4 hours to see the whole parade. For those of us who live in this small town this is exciting!!!!!!!
