| BEHAVIOR EXPECTATIONS 1) Be ON TIME (in your seat before the bell). It is expected that all students arrive on time and with all materials (Binder, Textbook, Calculator, Pencil/Eraser) necessary to participate in the lesson. Please don't ask to borrow from the teacher. (LINES) 2) Please display politeness to all members of the class at all times. LISTEN when someone else talks. Only ONE person can talk at a time, if you have something to say, RAISE YOUR HAND and wait for your turn. 3) Be PREPARED TO WORK: a good work ethic will make the year much easier for you. 4) Be IN YOUR SEAT working during class: use class time for completing assignments, do NOT use class time for wandering or socializing. 5) BEING AWAY is NEVER an excuse for not completing assigned work. |
| WORK EXPECTATIONS 1) All MATH WQRK will be done in a neat manner and in PENCIL only. If it is not legible it will not be marked or (in the case of a test) it will be marked incorrect. 2) The NOTES must always be dated and taken in a neat manner. 3) Each assignment MUST have a TITLE which will include the DATE and the PAGE reference from the textbook. 4) QUESTIONS as well as ALL WORK MUST BE SHOWN before the answer. Whenever a diagram is part of the solution, it must be included and clearly labelled. 5) Please use a 3-ring binder which is exclusively for MATH and label it. You will also require approximately 10 dividers, one for each unit. (There will be book checks : /100) 6) Use the forms supplied to keep track of assigned homework and record marks. |
| ABSENCES If you are absent, BRING A NOTE FROM HOME (unless called in by parent/guardian) the day you return. If you DO NOT bring a note explaining why you were away, missed work will count as ZERO. Missed tests and quizzes can be made up OUTSIDE of class time, only if you talk to me the day you get back. If you do not have an excused absence, you will receive a mark of ZERO on any assignment, quiz or TEST. **It is your RESPONSIBILITY to talk to me about work you missed. I WILL NOT chase you down to ask you to make up work. Homework will be accepted late ONLY until the end of a specific unit, but will be taken down as late and consequently you will lose marks. | I want all of you to be successful and to do as well as you can in any class this year. You WILL be successful in this class, provided you TRY! The ONLY way to be unsuccessful this year is if you do not put forth a good effort. NO ONE who has put in a good effort has ever failed my class! If you come to class prepared and ready to work, you will do well in my class this year! |
