Well, this is the first time since high school that I've built a webpage using HTML. I would normally take the easy way out and use the wonderful feature called "Pagebuilder" here on Geocities. I've been lazy with my websites so far, but it's about time I spend some quality time on my computer. Hey, it's better than watching divx and playing games, don't you think? Besides, it's not like I have anything better to do anyway.
Well, well, well... so you want to know more about me, huh? I don't blame you. j/k. Let's see, I'm 20 years old and I live in the good ol' Lonestar State. I've been living in south Texas since I was about 5, so that's a pretty long time. I am currently away from home attending college in Troy, New York. A big change, I know, but sometimes you need to spice up your life a little. I used to live life to the max (or what I considered "the max") before but I've settled down a bit. There comes a time in everybody's life where you just have to say enough is enough. Now I'm trying to concentrate on my studies and my career. I'm majoring in Electrical Engineering from RPI. This is my third year and if everything goes as planned, I will be graduating in spring 2003.
My hobbies... well I really don't have anything in particular that I enjoy doing 24/7, but I do spend a lot of time on my computer. Actually, this only happens when I'm in college because when I'm at home I'm always out doing something or other. One of my favorite things to do back home is to go to Kalipso, an awsome club in Mexico (no cover and free drinks all night, what more could you want?). I also like going to the beach. South Padre Island is only about an hour and a half from my home town so that's another advantage of living in the RGV.
One thing I do enjoy wherever I am is listening to music. My all-time favorite band is La Mafia. I've been following them since I was about 13 but I didn't actually meet them in person until I was 15. Needless to say it was a dream come true back then. Even though I don't like to think of myself as a "fan", people who know me will assure you that I am. I guess if I weren't I wouldn't have waited 12 hours in the hot Texas sun only to see them perform (my boyfriend got upset that time because he got sunburned... he looked like a lobster hehehe). Anyway, I stopped listening to tejano when I went off to college, but this past summer (2001) I started listening to it again. It's not the only genre of music I like, though. I'm also into rave, techno, rap, alternative, latin pop, and a lot of other stuff. I'm not sure what my favorite song would be classified as... Je T'aime Moi Non Plus by Jane Birkin and Serge Gainsbourg. Listen to it, I'm sure you'll love it as much as I do.
While we're on favorites, let me tell you a bit about my favorite actor. Most girls dream of guys like Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt, Antonio Banderas... but the one who makes my heart skip a beat (other than my boyfriend) is Matthew Broderick. Very few people actually know who he is even though he's done a lot of movies and Broadway shows. One of his movies won Denzel Washington an Oscar... "Glory". That's my favorite, by the way. I don't know what it is about him, but ever since I first saw him in that movie I've been a fan. Okay, okay, I must admit that a couple of his movies did suck (e.g., The Night We Never Met, Inspector Gadget, etc.). That doesn't take away his good looks, though!
