A quick Bio..
My brother introduced me to my first comic book when I was around 8 years old. It was a Batman book, if I remember correctly, and I fell in love instantly! My mom was a comic book fan herself reading the old King Features heroes like The Phantom, Mandrake the Magician and Flash Gordon. My brother was also a big comic book fanatic so things just pretty much fell into place from there. Over the years my friends started "growing out of it" and even my brother read less and less, but I kept reading month after month, spending any money I had to see what would happen next. Then as I grew older, I fell in love with the history of comic books, how it was influenced by our culture over the years, the back-story of the characters, who started it? Why? What was Fawcett comics? Obscure characters fascinated me and I started reading about the history of comic books and it became a hobby for me from that moment on. I have also drawn since I can remember picking up a pencil; my dad has some drawings of Iron Man and Thor I did when I was 7, not the best of things but certainly a sign of things to come.
I decided to start writing when Marvel originally "opened its doors" to the public some years back, but of course we all know what a fiasco that was. Then Dark Horse Comics started the "New Recruits" program and I submitted my script along with some artwork from an artist I've met on the Internet but I have yet to hear from anyone that actually won the contest. I won’t give up; I took creative writing classes on the Internet, and also did a 4-week animation and cartooning class in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Any chance I have to gain some experience I jump at.
I’m married to a wonderful woman who amazingly enough supports this "obsession" of mine. We have a wonderful daughter named Jade Angele Jordan Aguiar (she even has her own webpage www.geocities.com/jadeaguiar05) named after Alan Scott's daughter Jade and of course my favorite character Hal Jordan.
