Shawnie hadn't said anything since she had told her story. She was afraid of what her uncle was thinking. Chris broke the slience by saying "I will run this and I should have the resaults back by tomorrow. I will get with you then Steve. Then we can go from there."
"Sounds good to me. I will see you later Chris and thank you for taking the time for this." he said.
Shawnie followed him out of the room. They had got by the elevators when Steven stopped and turned towards Shawnie and said "Why did you wait so long to report this?"
"I didn't want anyone to know about it and also it was right before mom and dad got killed." she said looking down.
He pulled her close to him and gave her a hug and said "I wished you could have told me."
"Do you hate me now because of this?" she asked.
"Oh honey. I could not even dream of being mad at you. I love you as my own children. You and Skeet are like my kids anyway, but there is just one more thing that I need to know." he said.
"You need to know his name don't you." she said.
"Yes I do. I am going to nail this bastard to the wall." he said.
She took a deep breath and after a moment of silence she said "Nate Williams."
He looked at her and said "Thee Nate Williams. The one that got sent to military school because he broke into the aquatic center and trashed it"
"The one and only. I know I was stupid for going with him, but this was before that." she said.
   He wrapped his arms around her tighter and said "No you are not stupid, it was just bad judgement."
He walked her to her car. She gave him another hug and a kiss on the cheek and said "Thank you for everything."
"Hey no problem. I am glad you finally came to me. I am here for ya anytime." he said to her.
She put her car in reverse when he said "I will give you a call tomorrow or when ever we get the resaults back."
"Okay" she said.
She pulled out and waved to him. When she got home she went straight to her room and took a shower before she called Josh.
She was in the middle of towel drying her hair when her phone in her room rang. She went to answer it. It was Josh. She told him to come over because she was ready to talk some more.   She hung up the phone and went back to drying her hair.    After she got dressed she sat down on her bed and started to write in her diary when she hear Josh's pickup pull up.   She sat waiting for him to come up.   She was writing when he walked in. He sat down beside her and waited for her to finish writing. She put the diary down and said "Okay I want you to hear me out before you say anything okay."
"Okay." he said.
Shawnie started by saying "Okay the reason I had to leave so fast was because the message was from the guy who raped me. He wanted to meet me. I met him at the pool hall. I was completely safe. Now for the box. It had the clothes that I was wearing the night it happened. I turned them over to the police. I am having charges filed against him."
"Okay, but why was this such a serect." he asked her.
"Because I am about to tell you who it is and you have got to promise me that you will not go after him. If you do go after him I will break up with you and I will never get you another chance. Do you know what I mean?" she said.
"Okay I won't go after him. I promise you." he said.
"Josh you really can't do anything to him." she said.
"Shawnie, I promise I won't go after him." he said.
She looked at him and took a deep breathe and said "It was Nate Williams."
"What? You went out with that asshole. How could you do that?" he yelled.
"Josh, you were going out with Lauren and he asked me to go to the spring dance so I went with him." she said.
Josh didn't say anything. She could tell that he was planning something. She grabbed his hands and said "Josh, I know what you are thinking and I don't want you to do it."
"What? I wasn't thinking anything." he said.
"Josh come one I know you to well. I can always tell when you are planning something." she said.
He looked at her and said "I just can't sit back and let him get away with it."
"Yes you can because he isn't getting away with it. I have my uncle going after him." she said to him.
"What do you mean that your uncle is going after him?" he asked her.
"My uncle is sargent Parker. I need to get my life back together and not let him make me feel like I deserved it. I have to get this out in the open so I can help other girls that he might have done this for. I have to stand up for myself and not let anyone else walk over me." she said.
Josh walked over to her window seat and sat down. Shawnie stayed on the bed. They didn't say anything for a long time. Josh finally broke the slince by saying "Oh wow. I don't know what to do with this."
"There is nothing you can do. The only thing you can do is stay with me and hold me when I need held and be there for me if I need a shoulder to cry on. You just have to be my support system." she said with a little laugh.
He looked at her and said "I don't think I can do that."
She looked at him with a shocked looked and said "What?"
"I don't think I can do that?" he repeated.
"Why not? You want to leave me know. I can't believe you. You got me to tell you everything about me that I have not told anyone and now you are going to leave me. You are such an asshole." she yelled at him.
"Relax Shawnie I am not going to leave you. I meant that I can't sit back and let you go through this alone. I will be with you every step of the way. I am going to be with you twenty four seven. You are not going to be going anywhere that I won't be there." he said.
She looked at him and said "You are not going to do what I think you are going to do are you?"
"I think I am. I am going to move in here." he said with a smile.
Shawnie just looked at him. She couldn't say anything she was so stuned. She couldn't believe what she was hearing. She was speechless. Josh had to finally walk over to her and said "What do you think of that?"
"I......can't even think. Josh I don't want you to do that. I don't mean that I don't want you here because I do but I think you should really think this over first with your parents before you move in here." she said.
"I already have and they could care less. They are never home anyway so they won't have to worry about me anymore." he said.
She looked at him and said "Josh, if you stay here there will be some rules."
"Oh yes the rules. Let me have them." he said.
"Okay the first one and main one will be you will have your own room so you will have your own privacy. Second is you will help with the bills and last but not least you can't go out with anyone else." she said smiling.
"I think I can live with those. They are fair.   Do you have to tell Skeet?" he asked.
Shawnie started laughing and said "Yes, but I think he will go for it. I mean Drea has more clothes here than at her house. She only goes home for money."
Josh started laughing and said "Okay I will go home and pack my things then. I will be back shortly."
Shawnie said "Okay I will break the news to Skeet."
Shawnie followed Josh downstairs. Josh stoped at the bottom of the stair and turned around and kissed Shawnie before he left. Shawnie waited for Josh to leave before she went to the den to talk to Skeet.
