                 COLORADO FREEMASONRY
                            
          
          The Grand Lodge of Colorado A.F. & A.M., and The Prince
          Hall Grand Lodge of Colorado and its jurisdiction F. & A.M.
          together with their respective Grand Masters met at the
          State Capitol Building, August 3, 1995, at 10:00 A.M., to
          sign a joint compact which fully recognizes the members of
          both organizations as True Masons (i.e., "with all the rights
          of a Master Mason."). Both of the above Grand Lodges
          received their Charters from the Grand Lodge of England.
          This compact has already caught the attention of
          neighboring States, and they have requested a copy as a
          model for their review This joint compact is a glorious
          example of human, and race relations, progress in the State
          of Colorado, and, indeed, in America. Additionally, this
          compact establishes a "Blue Ribbon"JOINT FRATERNAL
          RELATIONS COMMISSION (JFRC) this commission will
          form a liaison between the organizations.

          M.W. GRAND LODGE, A.F.& A.M. OF COLORADO
                         and
          M.W. PRINCE HALL GRAND LODGE, F.& A.M. OF
          COLORADO AND ITS JURISDICTION, INC.
                           
                       Preamble
                            
          
          In order to establish, and implement, full and complete
          Masonic recognition; to provide for successful coexistence;
          to insure a continuing harmonious relationship; to promote
          Masonry in general; having a mutual regard for the right of
          each Grand Lodge to retain its absolute and supreme
          sovereignty regarding legislative, executive, and judicial
          power over its own lodges, members, rituals, and activities;
          having the legitimate right of each to continue to exist and
          operate within the geographical bounds of the State of
          Colorado; and to secure the blessings of The Grand
          Architect of the Universe; the M W Grand Lodge, A.F. and
          A.M. of Colorado, and the M W, Prince Hall Grand Lodge, F.
          and A.M. of Colorado and its Jurisdiction, Etc. mutually
          agree to the following:
          
                      I
          That each of the above-named Grand Lodges will remain
          autonomous within, and unto, itself operating hereafter as
          heretofore, each with its own Grand Master, Constitution,
          laws, rules and regulations.
          
                      II
          
          That each extends full and complete fraternal recognition to
          the other, and grants to the respective members of each, all
          of the rights of a Master Mason, and of fraternal relations
          and associations granted to any other Grand Jurisdiction
          with which it presently has fraternal relations; limited only by
          restrictions imposed by the respective laws, rules and
          regulations, of each, as they relate to members of other
          Jurisdictions
          
                     III
          
          Established, herewith, is a permanent joint commission to be
          styled THE JOINT MASONIC FRATERNAL RELATIONS
          COMMISSION (JMFRC). The commission shall be
          composed of four (4) members from each Grand Lodge,
          selected as follows: The Grand Master of each Grand Lodge
          shall appoint a Commission chairman Each chairman shall
          select three Grand Lodge members to serve with him, who
          are knowledgeable concerning the history and problems that
          may arise in implementing and sustaining this compact.
          These selections must be submitted to their respective
          Grand Masters for approval. During even numbered years
          the Prince Hall chairman shall preside over the Commission
          and during odd numbered years the A.F. & A.M. chairman
          shall preside.
          
          A.   Formal communication, concerning the work of the
          Commission, shall be between the respective Commission
          chairman and his own Grand Master or between the Grand
          Masters themselves
          
          B.   The Commission shall meet upon call of its currently
          presiding chairman, and will consider and make
          recommendations to each Grand Lodge; through its
          respective Grand Master, concerning issues, conflicts,
          disputes, or questions.
          
                      IV
          
          This compact is not intended to, and specifically does not,
          abrogate the Supreme Masonic Authority -- legislative,
          executive and judicial -- of the Most Worshipful Grand
          Lodge of Ancient Free and Accepted Masons of Colorado or
          the Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Free and
          Accepted Masons of Colorado and its Jurisdiction, Inc.
          Rather, it constitutes a compact between the respective
          Grand lodges in which the autonomy of each is guaranteed,
          while, at the same time, the right to reside and work together
          in Peace, Harmony and Brotherly Love is assured
          
                      V
          
          Changes, additions, deletions, corrections or amendments
          to this compact will not be effective until the same shall have
          been reduced to writing, signed by each Grand Master, and
          ratified or approved by each of the respective Grand
          Lodges.
          
                      VI
          
          This Compact shall be in effect only when it has been
          approved by the Grand Masters of both Grand Lodges, and
          not then, until it shall have also been submitted to, and
          ratified or approved by, each of the respective Grand
          Lodges according to the terms of its organic law.
