Brethren:

The name of the firm run by Allen E. Roberts, the noted Masonic author, is
Imagination Unlimited. Think a moment about that. The possibilities are
unlimited. No great or important project or event can ever be consumated
without imagination for if it is it will be the same humdrum event we have seen
over the years.

Had a call over a year ago from a member in Sacramento actively engaged in
promoting a Grand Master's Reception that would be different. Probably because
of the cost to attend and the necessary attendance, he asked if we could
mention it in our mailings. Had no further contact so forgot about it.

Recently received a report on the event and it was a terrific success. It was
held at Sutter Fort, labeled "A Grand Celebration of Masonry in Sutter's Fort!"
The Grand Master and entourage were welcomed with cannon fire and fanfare; the
American, California and Mexican flags were presented by a Shrine Temple Patrol,
presentations were made by a County Supervisor and a State Senator; and a ten
page, large type, script with different brethren taking the parts of characters
of the time of the fort's activities during the Gold Rush days.

To quote: "Our price was $22.50 per person and not one complaint - shooting
down the old excuse that it has to be cheap to sell tickets. If people are
receiving full value for their money, they are happy to support a function -
and that concept is also difficult to get across to our members."

"It was a beautiful sight to look out and see all the original, imaginative and
beautiful costumes - from the roughest miner to several fully-attired Indians
and gorgeous women in gowns and hats, pioneer dresses and western gear."

He added that it was a sell out far in advance with a waiting list. The Eastern
Star held a pre-function champagne reception, the Shrine donated wine for the
dinner and the Scottish Rite furnished the sound and lighting equipment.

Imagination unlimited definitely works.

And we just received notice of another what should be outstanding event. Park
Lodge No. 63, Vancouver, Canada, is hosting a Table Lodge, exemplified by THREE
GRAND MASTERS, M.W. Brother Grant Wardlaw, Grand Master of British Columbia
will assume the East, assisted by M.W. Brother Myron Lusk, Grand Master of
Alberta and M.W. Brother Kenneth Robinson, Grand Master of Washington, Table
Lodges, not necessarily something new, have been held since the 1700s. E.A. and
F.C.s are welcome to attend the Table Lodge. Price of a ticket: $25.00.

And I will wager it will be an early sell out as was the Sacramento event
because it is imagination unlimited, how else could a lodge come up with such an
idea. And can't you just vision the joy of brotherhood being exemplified at
such an event, Freemasonry as it was intended to be.
