Meet Our Editor

Charles Snow Guthrie, FPS, will be
editing Thc Philalethcs beginning immedi-
ately.
Brother Guthrie is a long-time Mem-
ber of The Philalethes Society, and has
been a Fellow since 1981. He's no
stranger to the printed word. He is
thoroughly familiar with the goals, ob-
jectives and purpose for Thc Philakthcs .
We are certain he will be what we've been
looking for.
He's an educator. He was an instructor
in Cumberland (Kentucky) High School
for 12 years. He went from there to
Graduate School at the University of
Kentucky for two years, then spent 16
years as a associate professor of English
at Western Kentucky University. He was
Editor of Kcntucky Folklorc Rccord for eight
years. He says he has been retired for the
past eight years, but that's not exactly so.
He has never stopped working for
Freemasonry. In addition he has written
two books for Kentucky Freemasonry.
At his request he's taking the job of
Editor of Thc Philalcthcs for the balance of
the year. He wants to give us a chance to
evaluate him and he wants to determine
how we receive him.
We think we've found the right man for
the right job at the right time. We hope
you and he agree.
