Freemasonry: A Celebration of the Craft

Soon Masons everywhere will have a fine new book to enjoy
and to share with friends. Titled Freemasonry: A Celebration
of the Craft, this magnificent 256-page volume features a
large format (10" X 12 1/4") with many color illustrations,
all finely bound in a hardcover with jacket. A perfect
addition for any home or library, it also makes a particularly
elegant gift or presentation volume.

The key term in the title of this positive and inspiring
book is "celebration." The history of Freemasonry, for
instance, is depicted in a chapter dedicated to the
Fraternity's origins and history. Then three chapters focus on
the Masonic themes of Wisdom, Strength, and Beauty. These
sections use a biographical approach to illustrate the
contributions of Freemasons worldwide. It is, frankly, amazing
to realize how many famous men were Masons!

But this handsome book is more than thumbnail sketches.
Whenever possible, historic and contemporary illustrations
complement the text to provide fascinating insights regarding
the Brother himself and his special achievement benefiting
humankind. A final section, titled "Freemasonry: A Way of
Life," reveals the philosophical, moral, and ethical aspects
of our Craft, especially as they are evidenced in practical
actions.

   Sov Grand Commander C. Fred Kleinknecht's, 33,
introduction to the section entitled "Strength" expresses his
admiration, in particular, of the book's thorough treatment of
Freemasonry in the United States. At the same time, the
authors present a unique and definitive guide to the essence
of universal Freemasonry by bringing together, through the
cooperation of Masonic authorities around the world, the
varied strandssocial, historical, and artisticthat have
woven the rich tapestry of Masonry over the centuries.

Freemasonry: A Celebration of the Craft is being offered to
the readers of The Scottish Rite Journal at a special
prepublication price (valid until April 30, 1992) of $49.95.
