The Scottish Rite Journal, what a great name for a magazine
that reveals fresh insights in the light of eternal truth!
The word journal comes from the Latin diurnalis and means
periodical, dealing regularly with matters of significant
interest for the future. A journal combines the age and the
ageless, and when we preface the term journal with three other
words, "The Scottish Rite," we have created a many-memoried yet
prophetic name.
Ah, yes, some may say that others have stolen our former
good name, The New Age, after we had invested much treasure in
it. True! But as Shakespeare put it in Othello: "Who steals my
purse steals trash; `tis something, nothing; `Twas mine, `tis
his, and has been slave to thousands; but he that filches from me
my good name, robs me of that which not enriches him."
     You ask "Why"?
Because a name is only effective if one knows how to use it.
In the Holy Bible, one of our Craft's great Lights, we read
that "a good name is rather to be chosen than great riches."
Since a well-selected name contributes to one's success, our
newly named magazine will lead all the rest!
     Welcome The Scottish Rite Journal!
