To Our Authors
 Sincere Thanks And Apologies!

When it became known that the February 1993 issue of The
Scottish Rite Journal would be a response to anti-Masonry today,
many Brethren were inspired to send in articles. Other materials
were solicited from prominent clergymen who are also Scottish Rite
Masons. The essays poured in! It was soon evident that "Religion
and Freemasonry" is a hot topic and that the February issue of The
Journal could be a significant resource to counter the anti-Masonic
movement both today and in the future. Thus this special issue was
expanded from the magazine's usual number of pages, 64, to 96. In
addition, the "Current Interest" section was deleted to accommodate
overrun. Even after adding these extra pages, there was not enough
room in this issue to fit in all the articles received and accepted
for publication. Seventeen essays, despite their excellence, could
not be used, but they will be published, space permitting, in
future issues of The Scottish Rite Journal. Meanwhile, we extend
our sincere thanks to the Brethren whose articles are printed
herein and our heartfelt gratitude to the authors whose fine work
could not be included. Among the latter (listed alphabetically by
last name, Degree, and Scottish Rite Valley) are:
