The Assembly, Feast and Forum

The President presided over the festiv-
ities attended by close to 200 that began
at 6 p. m. with an invocation by the Rev-
erend Brother C. Douglas Mayo.

During the hearty meal toasts were
made to The United States of America
by Frederick G. Kleyn, III, MPS, Cap-
tain, USN ret,; The Grand Lodges
Throughout the World by James Shaw,
MPS, of Canada; and The Philalethes
Society by Rodney J. Van Houten,
MPS, of Virginia.

The Executive Secretary reviewed the
actions of the Executive Board (see
below). The approved Charters were
presented by the President. Distin-
guished Service Medals were presented
by the President.

The President introduced John M.
Boersma of Toronto as the Lecturer for
1993. Brother Boersma spoke at length
about Brother Mozart. His slide and
musical program featuring Mozart was
excellent for which he received a well-de-
served standing ovation.

Cabell F. Cobbs, MPS, Past Grand
Master (Virginia), closed with The
Tyler's Toast. Brother Mayo gave the
benediction .

Cornerstone Computer Chapter pre-
sided over the Forum which was master-
fully led by Scott M. Sherman, MPS, a
Sysop (System Operator) on the Masonic
Forum on CompuServe. The interest of
the audience was impressive; the ques-
tions asked were indeed intelligent; the
answers were superb. Brother Sherman,
among many of the benefits of the Ma-
sonic Forum, told of the extraordinary
number of men who have petitioned
Freemasonry because of information ob-
tained from the forum. Although the
forum is relatively new (came into being
on October 1, 1992) almost every state
is represented, as well as many foreign
countries .
