          FROM THE EDITOR'S DESK
           2/94 ISSUE

As your Editor I have been taken to task for an article which
appeared in the October 1994 Issue titled "The First Schism
in Freemasonry." One comment I receive was "In you
capacity as Editor I am sure you would not wish a Masonic
Magazine of the status of "The Philalethes" to be the venue
for distributing world-wide such a collection of blatant errors
. . . " Yes, I and I alone are responsible for all articles and
letters that appear in our Magazine. And I apologize for any
inaccuracies. I strongly suggest that you read a "Response
to The First Schism in Freemasonry" which appears in this
          months issue.

The Annual Assembly, Feast and Forum in Washington DC,
on February 24, 1995 will have Philalethes Members not
only from the United States but also from England, France,
Canada, and other countries in attendance. I look forward to
meeting each and everyone of you. See you in Washington.
