The Windarian
Foreword
The sound of plasma hitting solid scales is heard in the distance. Faint grunts, moans and even an occasional screech are also noticeably present. A few hundred feet closer, you see what is happening. It might be hard to understand what is going on. But I will tell you anyway. I am Rakis. This is the story�the tale of how one person rose to overcome the hate, evil, and hard times the world seemed to give him. This is the tale of how an evil rose to power, an outcast was born, and a brother and sister live for one destiny, a member of the Clan Neko, a bird-like creature, and me. One might wonder how these things are all related, or how they can all be brought together. Please�allow me to explain.
It began when the planet of Plakktar was on its third rotation. It was...unusually dark out for the quarter the turn was in. No one understood what was going on in this place. I mean all hell was breaking loose. Anyway, I knew what was going on. A new one was being born. A new what? Oh, that�s right, you don�t know. They call them �Windarians�. He was supposed to be their new leader. Born of the most elegant of the Windarians. Josie, the most beautiful non-human creature you could have ever found. Hell, if I would have had the chance, I woulda screwed her. But then there is Qotile. What a strong fighter. He was his father. OH YEAH. You don�t know who �he� is hehe. Vex is his name. And he is the cause of all this trouble. ANYWAY!!! Lets get back to the story. The planet was shaking. A mighty roar followed by a soft crooning could be heard from just about everywhere. The shaking stopped. People were back to normal as if nothing had happened. But I had witnessed this glorious event once. No human is permitted to see a Windarian birth. So naturally, I snuck in. It was the most amazing thing I had ever seen. Josie lie there on her back, breathing heavily. Oh yeah. Just to let you know. Josie is of the Anthro clan. She isn�t a Windarian. Kinda odd, huh. Anyway, Josie was breathing hard and was almost in tears. Qotile stood there screeching out in all his glory. Then he would turn to Josie and softly croon to her. She kissed him once and laid back down. I slipped at this point and missed what happened for about three minutes. I got back up to see that I had missed the best part. The only chance I woulda had to see Josie�s�I mean to see a Windarian of such rank as his being born. Vex was about the size of a full grown husky when he was born. And to guess weight, I would hafta guess he weighed about 47 lbs. Such elegance, such beauty had almost never been seen among the Windarian clan. I heard a loud and very frightening screech. I naturally ducked thinking they had seen me. I looked back up after about a moment or so noticing I hadn�t been found. I heard the screech again. Then, I saw it. It was the worst possible thing that could happen to a Windarian of such stature, such glory. Vex was born�with pupils. No Windarian since the great Mantadolix was conceived. Vex was merely 5 minutes old, and already, he was an outcast. I guess that is what started him on this journey. Anyway, now you know where it started. Nothing much happened between then and now. Except when Vex saved me. But that is not important. Right now, the present is the thing we need to focus on. Vex was looking for a gem. It�s called the Graceful Bloodstone of Nargathan. No one knows how it got the name, but Vex sure wanted to find it. Well about 3 days ago, he did. That is why we are here. Fighting this dragon. Okay I gotta duck now so�watch what is going on. At that moment, a fireball came flying right at Rakis. He ducked, as the sound of plasma was heard striking scales. The dragon cries out in pain as Vex swings his massive six-foot plasma blade, ironically named, �Six Footer�, gashing the dragon right across his gullet. It was an amazing sight. Anyway, as the dragon screamed out in pain, Vex took one more mighty powerful swing and basically sliced the damned things head off. It was funny to see but kinda scary to actually be there in the midst of such a powerful being. I really didn�t know what feelings I should have been expressing at this point. The beast fell over, shaking the ground with a mighty thud as it lay there still, dead. Vex walks toward Rakis and whispers something to him. Vex steps forward. �So you wish to know my story, huh? Who better to tell it then me?� It was fifteen years after my birth.
Chapter 1
It All Begins
Vex awoken with a stiff neck and a minor headache. He observed the room he was in. It had a bright yellow paint with a small window in the far corner of one of the walls. The room smelled vaguely of some kind of herb, most likely, judging by the somewhat mint smell, one used in making some kind of medicine. Vex stares blankly at the window, which had a brown trim with curtains so green, you could almost smell it. He licked his lips dryly as he felt his head. �What is this around my head?� he proclaimed. �You were hurt,� said a sweet heavenly voice, which seemed almost at once to ease his pain. �One of the towns-people found you lying on the ground, unconscious.� �Who are you?� Vex commanded. �No need to be hasty,� said the woman, �I am Andrea. But just call me �Wish�, okay?�
�Fine with me.�
�What were you doing in the woods alone sir?� Wish asked with a hint of curiosity.
�Name�s Vex. I�m a hunter. I was struck from the back and fell unconscious.� Vex looked around, in deep concern. �Oh shit, you didn�t happen to find a little rod did you? Its about two feet long and,�
�Its right here.� Wish interrupted. �They grabbed everything you had on you and brought it here, to me. All of your belongings are right there in the corner. Vex�� Wish said with a questionable tone, �What are your origins?� Wish asked carefully noticing a little tension in Vexs� eyes.
�I am Windarian. I come from humble surroundings. There isn�t much else about me you need to know.� Vex spoke hastily. He rose from the bed, stretching his muscles and flexing his mighty wings.
�How old are you, Vex?�
�In your time�I'm fifteen. In mine, I'm almost three hundred. I will live about one hundred human years. Does that answer your questions, Wish?� Vex had somewhat of an annoyed tone of voice.
Wish spoke softly, �Yes it does. Thank you.�
�Where am I?�
�The fine hospital in Mangard, Cross-Plane Regenerative Facility.� Wish spoke with enthusiasm.
�Thank you. One more question. How do I get to Cramel?�
�Oh, that would be about four or five hours east of here. Why the hell would you want to go to such a run down place like Cramel anyways?� Asked Wish with intensity.
�Run down? You must be mistaken. I have heard many a glorious tale about this wonderful place.� Vex spoke in shock.
�Well ya heard damn wrong. Cramel ain�t nothing but a junk town. Has been for about three years now. Sorry, but if you don�t believe me, check it out for yourself.�
�Okay�Thank you for your assistance. Andrea�Take care now.� Said Vex wish a bit of feeling.
�I will. You stay safe now, got it?� Andrea smiled and looked Vex over once or twice.
�I will. Good day to you.� Vex walked out of the room into a big hallway filled with fantastic artwork that literally glowed with vibrant colors. He glanced around the room many times before he noticed the front door. He gracefully strode towards the door and opened it to a rush of a variety of sound.
There was people talking, vehicles honking and revving up, different smells like the sweet bluff-berries he so frequently munched on at his birthplace, something that smelled almost like the bubble pools he used to vacation to when he needed to relax, and the faint unforgettable scent of Josie. But that was from a trinket he kept in his pocket. It was given to him from Josie.
He remembered that event well. He told her of his journey to come. She sprayed this dagger-like rock with her perfume and handed it to him. �Son, I give this to you in case we do not see each other again. Please take care and never forget me. If you get the chance�please stop by. I�ll make it worth it, okay?� These being her last words to him as of yet, Vex set off on his travels. He held the dagger pendant close to him as he closed his eyes. �I will see you soon, mother. I will meet you in Cramel�Just like we had planed.� Vex whispered solemnly.
Vex turned quickly at the sound of a scream. Someone was coming at him sword drawn. He had killed a woman that tried to get him to put his blade away. Vex grinned. �You assassins don�t give up do you?� Vex chuckled heartily as the man snarled and curled up his lip.
�I�m gonna fuck ya up boy.� The man shouted, angry and irritated.
�Well, if your going to kill me, can I at least know thy name of my slayer?� Vex smiled once more.
�I�m F�langen. This will be the last name you know.� The man spoke with full voice. �And don�t get cocky with me.� As the man slowly crept forward, Vex noticed he had a tattoo above his left eye about three inches long and two wide. It had the shape of a scorpion. The man stood at about five foot nine inches with kind of a hulky build. He wore clothing from the scorpion gang. He had a blue shirt with a big red scorpion in the middle, and baggy green pants with patches in both the knees. The man�s brow was sweaty and his beady blue eyes were quivering.
�Are you scared F�langen?� Vex teased.
�I'm gonna kill you good boy.�
�Vex�My name is Vex.�
�Fine, then I will kill you Vex.� The man lunged forward, catching Vex off guard. Vex quickly dodged and grabbed the man by the arm, flinging him to the ground. Vex the unsheathed his plasma blade, �Six Footer�, and powered it up. �You will have to be faster than that to kill me, F�langen.�
�All right, no more fuckin� around. It�s time to die, Vex.� The man growled.
�Yes it is.� Vex returned. F�langen swung his long sword at vex, trying to go for a quick kill, but slipped on the curb of the sidewalk and stumbled. Vex smashed the hilt of his blade into the mans spine, knocking him over.
�So, F�langen. How long have you been following me?�
The man coughed violently. �Who the hell you think knocked you out in the woods? I woulda killed ya then had it not been for them damn joggers.� F�langen stumbled slowly back to his feet, getting a firm grasp of his blade. He swung again, this time catching Vex in the arm.
�Ahh! You bastard. You got me that time�heh no matter. You will die now.� Vex swung down hard with his plasma sword, ripping through the mans sword and F�langen himself. The man yelped and fell in two. �What a miserable man. He wasted his life, and for what? A chance to be famous?� Vex shook his head and covered his arm. He lookes back only to see Wish there almost laughing. �Here.� She said as she hopped out the door. �This oughtta help ya.� Wish wraps the bandage around Vex�s arm. �You�re
out what five minutes, and again are in need of my aid?� Wish smiles and winks at Vex. He smiles back and begins heading east, toward Cramel. �Bye Vex!� Wish yelled.
�Till next time Wish.� It was about an hour or so after Vex had left the quaint little town of Mangard, when he noticed that something was still following him. �WHO IS OUT THERE?� he boomed in the loudest voice he could. All he heard for a response was an almost silent snap of a little twig. Vexs� eyes begin to change color as he slowly shifts into infrared vision. He noticed a little blotch of heat bundled in an area the size of an almost fully-grown woman. �Who is there?� he spoke in a softer, kinder voice. This time a little pip was heard. �Come out of there. I won�t harm you. Honest.� As the figure sifted slowly into an upright position, he realized that it was a woman. Not human as he had presumed, but a member of the clan Anthro. �And who might you be ma�am?� The figure hesitated, but in a sweet voice that sent Vex into bliss as he heard it finally muttered out, �I-I...I am S-Silver. Silver of the Anthro clan. I saw how you took care of that man that tried to kill you. I was wondering if I could go with you. You know, for protection. You see�� Vex interrupted, �I suppose you want me to accompany you to Cramel. Am I right?�
�Yes, I do need you for that. And so I'm not so lonely on the way. Would you be so kind as to allow me to join you?� Vex smiled as he nodded. He looked into Silvers� eyes and spoke, �I would love to. You have very nice eyes, you know that?� Silver stumbled back at these words. �What do you expect to get from me by these compliments?�
�Maybe a thank you or a smile acknowledging you heard me. I am just being kind�and honest. You are also very beautiful.� Again Silver backed away, but this time, she smiled, a little uneasily, and said thanks. �Well, shall we be going? Don�t want to arrive to late. Otherwise the guards will surely attack us.� Vex began walking slowly to let Silver stay in pace with him. �I really appreciate this. Usually, most people would have told me to bug off, or want sex in return. That�s not why you are doing this is it?�
�No, just simply because you are going to the same place and it would be very rude of me to have said no. And to tell you the truth, I really don�t feel like being alone either.� Silver smiled and hugged Vex softly. �Thank you. By the way, what is your name?�
�I am Vex Windarian. Just call me Vex.�
�Will do.� Silver gave Vex a small peck on the cheek out of kindness. Vex smiled as he looked at her with a warm kind of glow in his eyes. He closes his eyes, shifting back into normal view. �Wow, your eyes change colors!?!?�
�Yes they do, depending on the situation, how I feel, and the mode I am using.�
�Not to be to forward but, I think it is kinda sexy.� Vex looked over again and smiled. �We should be there soon Silver. But it is getting late. We need to rest tonight and continue on in the morning.� Vex spoke with care and caution. He looks down as a gleam of light hit a ruby red ring Silver was wearing. �Alright, but don�t try anything funny while I'm sleeping.� Silver said with a stern tone of voice. �I won�t. Don�t worry.� Silver seemed almost to frown, and Vex noticed it. He grinned a little, just enough so that Silver did not see. �Sleep well, Silver. Pleasant dreams.� Vex whispered with a delicate friendly tone that seemed to warm Silvers heart. �Same to you Vex. And again, thanks for the help.� But Vex was already almost asleep. Silver lets out a sigh as she whispers to herself, �I really like him. I have heard many stories about him. What luck is it that I actually get to travel with a Windarian? I know that fortunes about the future are often wrong but this is happening just like the man in the booth said it would. Am I really destined to marry this man? Am I destined to be the Silver Windarian the man spoke of? I thought he spoke of Silver as a color. Maybe, maybe not. But whatever happens, I know we will take care of each other.� Little did she know, Vex heard every word, for he was also, among his many other talents, a telepath. Vex rose slowly, strides over to Silver and kneeled down over her. She was still somewhat awake when she received a small kiss on her forehead. �Silver, I will not let anything happen to you. I swear it on my honor.� Vex Moves back slowly to his spot and grabbed an extra blanket lightly spreading it over Silver. �Vex, won�t you be cold?�
�I�ll be fine. I have my fur and feathers to keep me warm.� Vex spoke with a shiver in his voice for it was, among other things, very cold out. Silver stood up wrapped up in the four or five blankets Vex had wrapped around her and walked over to him. �Here, take these. I can share.� Silver said sweetly. �You don�t mind sleeping with me do you?� she asked. �Not at all. But please, this is only our first night together. Please don�t try anything.�
�Don�t worry Vex, I'm not going to violate you.� Silver giggled as she spoke these words. As she lay down next to Vex and softly cuddled closer she whispered in his ear, �This is as close as I will be. Is that okay with you?� Vex replies with a little uneasiness, �Yes that is okay. Just�never mind.� Vex slowly placed his arm over her and was almost instantly asleep. �Its okay Vex. I know how hard it is to get to your heart. I will do it though. Don�t worry.� Silver silently cuddles a little closer holding on to Vexs� arm and drifts off to sleep. Morning comes quickly as the two are awakened with a start. There are noises about and the sound of weapons and carts being readied. �W-what do you want?� Vex growls out groggily. �You are the Windarian. You know what we want. We want you dead. You are the reason Loque is here. He wants your head. He says that if you are dead, he will leave. So that is what I am here to do. To kill you is my mission. Well get up and ready to die. �Cuz Imma gonna kill ya good you no good dirty beast.� The man spat out in disgust. �Dirty beast? Vex is the only person to have enough kindness to keep me safe overnight. While all you villagers just point and laugh, he is giving me shelter and warmth. He is the only reason I am as close to my home as it is. So if anyone is a no good dirty beast, I think it is YOU!� Silver screamed almost like a banshee at the man. The man stumbles back at these words. �You dare call the head leader of the Sahagalani Knights a beast. I think I will kill you first.� At these words, Vex jumps up and stands in-between the man and Silver. �In order to kill her, you have to get by me. I don�t think that is possible, judging by your stature.�
�HOW DARE YOU INSULT SIR RENMAGLAN OF THE SAHAGALANI KNIGHTS! PREPARE TO DIE!� The man at that instant lunges out at Vex and swings his broad sword. Vex nimbly dodges. �You will have to do much better than that if you want to get me. The assassin in Mangard had a better first strike than you. He at least almost hit me.� Vex looks at the man and smiles at the sheer rage and torment in his eyes. �Aww. Do you want to kill me now?� Vex teased. Renmaglan jump at Vex swinging swiftly, but Vex moves just enough so that he only loses a few hairs on his ear. �You missed again. Come on. I�ll give you one more free shot. Then I will strike back. Got it?� Vex cautioned smoothly. Renmaglan screams as he lunges forward at the taunting Windarian. His face shifts from angry to almost frighten as he misses and a sharp slicing sound is heard from behind him. He turns to face Vex, who is licking the blood off of his claws. �Much too slow Renmaglan. I was kind. I only made a gash in your arm.� Vex smirks. Renmaglan looks in surprise to see a huge gash across his left arm. He begins loosing blood at a fast pace. �Oh, but if you don�t kill me quick, you will bleed to death, HA!� Vex looks at the man, smile turning to a frown. �Now if you�re going to kill me�GIVE ME YOUR BEST DAMMIT. This isn�t a kiddy game. There are lives on the line. Get serious and KILL ME.� Vex snarls as his eyes shift into a kind of emerald green. The man drops his sword. �I can�t attack. You got my sword arm. Damn you.� The man begins to run as a rhythmic hum begins and a loud burst is heard. The man drops almost instantly. �W-w-what happened?� Sputtered out one of the knights. �I shot him. I got him with my Thug Buster. You see this is no ordinary ring I wear.� Silver takes a turn to smirk. �I have to thank my father for installing it.� Vex looked at Silver with surprise as he realized what that ring was for. �Don�t worry Vex, he isn�t dead. Not until he bleeds to death anyway.� Silver smiles at vex and kisses him on the cheek. Vex looks back and grins slightly. �At least he died from the one he wanted to kill. Now who wants to go next?� But by the time he had looked up, everyone, besides the fainted Renmaglan, had taken off running. . �I'm guessing they don�t wanna fight me. Heh. Pathetic humans.� Vex sneered. Silver pats Vex on the back, congratulating on such an easy victory. The two move over to the cold lifeless body of the once proud Renmaglan and pick him up. �Lets at least give him a proper burial.� Silver pleads to Vex. �Although he doesn�t deserve one, I wont be that cruel to him.� Vex sighs out and begins to look for a spot to burry the man. �What about right there in that little clearing?� Silver questioned. �Fine with me. Just don�t expect it to be anything fancy now, okay?�
�Alright.� Silver agreed. Vex begins digging and within minutes, finishes the easy task of making a grave. They slowly place the man in his final resting place, say a few words, burry the man, and leave him to be.
�Vex, how long do you think it will be �till we get to Cramel?�
�It should only be a little while now. Maybe an hour or so.� Silver smiled as she hugs Vex tightly and kisses his cheek. �I thank you Vex, for your escort. But I also have a question for you. I was wondering if, instead of leaving when we get to Cramel, could I come with you? I would love to stay by your side. I could help you fight and��
�If you promise not to get in the way and listen to me at all times, I would be glad to have you.� Vex interrupted. Silver jumped and laughed as she hugs Vex again. �Thank you so much. I will make sure not to bug you. If you ever need ANYTHING, just ask me okay?�
�Alright. Anything?� Vex questioned making sure Silver chose her words carefully enough. �Anything, just like I said.� Silver winked as she spoke. Vex simply smiles and looks into Silvers eyes. She smiled back winking again. Vex was already realizing that Silver was hitting on him, and obviously wanted him in any way possible. He knew that this was the start of a great journey and the fun had only started.
