With online games like Magestorm its not always just skill, it also depends a lot on your
computer, your ISP, and your attitude. When in a game type *d f then look in the bottom right
hand corner. There should be something like this:
L300
B100
The 1st one is your lag, lag is how long it takes for your computer to send data and get
some back. High lag can seriously effect game play, making players very jumpy, warpy, and hard
to hit. If your lag averages above 300 you are probably doing bad because you either have slow
modem, or a bad ISP (Internet service provider). If you use AOL to play, you defiantly have a lot
of lag. The bottom number is your FPS (frames per second). This also has a very serious effect
on your game play. If you have low FPS other players appear very warpy, when you move
around you warp from place to place to.

It effects your spells also, some of the players you see that you think are very
good....aren't they just have a very good computer and a good connection to the Internet. Like
those arcs that shoot 300 mana strikes per second. If you stuck them on your computer and had
them play they would probably suck worse then you do. You may not know it but attitude is a
very important thing in how you play. If you are pissed you tend to do a lot more stupid things.
Getting revenge most of the time usually makes you end up losing 1k or so. When you are tired
you tend to be a lot slower with reflexes, and are to tired to remember everything in strategies."

When you play try to get in a good mood, even if you do keep dying. How? Well every
time you get killed by someone, say in chat, nice fight man' or something like you are a tough
mage' even if its not true, it will help you cool your jets and they will reply nicely with something
like, yeah good fight, or thanks. The more friends you have on Magestorm the more slack they
give you, like they might let you get away or help you. Also take time to tell the battle healing
clerics they are doing a good job, even if they aren't. A cleric who likes you will tend to follow
you around and BH only you. Never hurts to be good friends with clerics. Now there are some
people out there that are just plain jerks. DON'T say anything in chat, ignore them. Its hard but
its better to, spend your time playing not yelling at someone in chat. Also remember to tell
someone good fight when you kill someone. Now if u gang-bang someone, say something like:
hehe sorry man, that was pretty cheap of us'...just try to keep everyone happy with you."

Missing a lot? Could be your lag, fps, or most likely....your aim. To work on your aim,
turn the crosshairs off by typing *c in chat. Practice aiming on something on a wall or your team
members. Once you get good with aiming without crosshairs, you will be MUCH better with
them. You also have to consider the speed some spells take to reach an opponent. The slower
the spell, the more in front of them you have to aim. Say you are a lvl 3 arc, you should try to
aim a few pixels in front of the way they are moving, and they will hit dead on by the time it takes
for the manastrike to get there. Bolts self aim for the most part, always aim down a touch to nail
em if they duck. Bolts can also go threw corners of walls so remember to try and fire threw them
when needed. Other slower projectiles like coldball take a bit more practice to aim perfectly, they
do have a blast radius so if u kind of miss it still gets them a little. But the best time to use those
is in narrow hallways where they cant move out of the way. If you know where they are headed,
like for there shrine, start casting them at the entrance to there shrine. Storms are kind of
awkward to aim too, again practice without the crosshairs. A direct hit with a storm can do some
major damage, same with the balls. As for mind spells, you do have to aim some. Try to keep the
crosshairs on the guy you want to zap's head."

Remember to duck, popping up and down and strafing (walking sideways with q and w)
make you a difficult target to hit. Don't strafe in only 1 direction, random the direction you strafe
in. Also you can try to stay on top of them...as close as possible when low on mana. You are to
close for them to fire at you. This works very well against bolt spells. Sense bolts do lag a tad,
you ments always remember to jump to safety 2 or 3 bolts left to kill you. Clerics, cast airwall as
you walk then run inside the airwalls for shielding as you heal and prayer.

You can also play the almost dead trick. When someone hits you, run away to a narrow
hallway. They will think you are running because you are almost dead. If you have them cast
some damage walls (like coldwall, or manawall) down the hallway. Thinking 1 more hit will kill
you they will walk threw these walls taking damage, as soon as they come out of the walls, blast
em with you most powerful projectile weapon. Then switch to your strong speedy one, if they try
to turn around and run, the walls finish them off. Also if you have solid walls like; wall of ice or
wood wall, take a few seconds to block off the exits so they can't get away. Be careful when
doing this, so that you don't block your teammates off from reaching safety. Clerics always haste
(cramp, fracture, para) before u fight it will help greatly. A flying mind ment getting you? Run to
somewhere with a low ceiling so they cant get out of reach, then blast em. Try to stay under them
so they can't see you to get spells out.

The last thing that could be wrong if you are doing bad in Magestorm, is you are in your
classes blues, all classes have them. Arcs get em around level 9 to 14, Mages have em from 1 to 9
or so. Clerics 1 to 12 or so. Ments don't really have a bad period, other then level 16, when you
have to start playing in the 10-30 games, but all classes have them then. All classes have there
rewards, stick with it!

P.S. If you still suck, practice, practice, and if you still do...find a different game to suck at.
