You've gotta love these guys!!  Nothing defines the state of heavy metal in the late eighties and early nineties better than Guns N' Roses.  Over there relativley short career (1987-1993) they managed to usher in the new metal of the nineties.  The constant controversy surrounding the band, and the excellent guitar playing by Slash instantly rocketed the band to mega stardom.  Even though GNR added so much to the metal genre, in the Puppet Master's opinion, they eventually led to it's downfall in the early nineties.  Much like the most evil band in the world, NIRVANA, the guns n' roses put out one hard album (Appetite For Destruction), and then folowed it up with a pussy album (Use Your Illusion).  This "Gentle Metal" as I like to call it, put the alternative wave in control in the later nineties.  For all their falts though, for a brief moment in metal history, GNR were the name of the game.
