Chapter 1 - -

And there I saw myself, strapped to a row of logs my auburn hair overflowing and creeping between the gaps of the logs. Waves of heat encircled me and my struggling body as fire danced around me with their cracks as their only tempo.

Dressed in dark robes with hoods engulfing their faces I could see them staring either at me or below. A low humming emerged as they raised their hands up from their sides

I snapped up from my pillow, sitting upright in my bed. Sweat ran down the sides of my forehead, and my breathing was much heavier. Its all just a dream, I assured myself before looking over to my alarm clock set on the dark wooden nightstand. It read 4:03AM

Chapter 2 - -

I awoke much later after I had experienced the nightmare. I pushed it aside just like all the other nightmares knowing it would go away tonight as I turned the lamp on the nightstand on and slipped out of my warm bed to the closet. Staring at the clothes hanging on their hangers perfectly neat and unwrinkled, I grabbed a pastel yellow boat necked sweater and a pair of blue jeans.

Laying the clothing gently on my bed I left my warm room into the dark cold hallway to slip into the bathroom. The tile beneath my feet sent a chill down my spine as I quickly made way to the soft rug. There I had done my morning routine and showered.

After emerging from the steamy bathroom I quickly returned to my comfortable bed where my choice outfit laid untouched. Silently I dressed and examined myself in the mirror that hung from the wall. Tugging lightly to adjust my sweater then proceeding to put my semidry hair in a half ponytail, it was then I decided that everything was how I wanted it.

Turning off my lamp and creeping down the stairs without awaking my whole family was much more complicated. Seemingly I had done it through making my way to the kitchen, which was cold and dreary. The faucet on the sink had a slight drop problem, and the refrigerator made a low humming noise. It was the typical morning for me, the sun would rise soon and fiery flames to warm the country would light the dark midnight blue sky.

Skipping breakfast without a word, I escaped the bounds of the house taking only my day bag, which only consisted of necessities such as a map, cell phone, snack, money, identification card, and keys to the house.

It was time for todays journey.
