This very day I go upon my way,
To go home and settle down for to stay.
I take my leave dressed in dark harmony
My shirt is the color of burnt honey,
My curls piled up a mess of dark brown hair
To look in the mirror would cause a scare.
Dark pants hanging down loose and flowing
On the bus I am excited going
To the place that harbors good memories.
I will be going home to tight harm’nies.
My forehead pressed against the rough seat back,
Smiling, I ‘member my friends sunny knack,
To brighten my day and lighten my heart.
The bus turns on and my music then starts.
I listen to rock, closing my eyes to
The flamboyant girls speak on what to do.
They flip their hair and giggle about boys,
My eyes open and play with many toys.
The bus bumps causing me to smack my head.
I grumble ‘bout needing to get to bed.
I reach around to my traveling pack,
As I move I get a knee in the back.
Time travels and I get a bad head ache
When I get home there are choices to make.
Mother and I will go buy a dress.
Working with my horse will be a great mess.
I will not have very much free time to spend
But it will all be worth it in the end.
