Summary: What if Hamilton realized Jake was a girl from the start?

Author’s Note: I love to write about J/H, especially their first reactions when they find out Jake’s secret for the first time but I thought this would be a welcome change and very interesting as well. To my fans who have given me tremendous support, thanks. Hope you enjoy!

Hamilton (taking pics and thinking aloud): Hello Rawley Academy for Girls. . . a sound catches his attention and he turns his camera on a motorcycle driving off the road and into the woods. The driver pulls off a helmet, revealing Jake Pratt. . . Nice bike. He decides to approach the stranger.

Hamilton: “That’s a cool bike, you know students aren’t allowed to have motorcycles”, he says as he approaches Jake. When he’s finally face to face with Jake, he realizes Jake’s not a he but a she! He acts as if he notices nothing, now curious as to why some girl would pretend to be a boy and enroll in an all boy’s academy.

Jake: “Yeah students aren’t allowed to do a lot of things, hasn’t stopped me yet.”

Hamilton: “ You keep riding around on that hog, and I guarantee you someone here will, unless you've got an ally.” “Someone with connections high up, someone who might like to take a ride on that bike sometime.” “I'm like a Swiss vault.” “I can keep a secret.” “In fact, I know all about secrets”, he emphasized these last words to see if he could get some kind of reaction from her but she didn’t seem to notice.

Jake: “Can you?”

Hamilton: “Yep.” “I’m Hamilton by the way.” “Hamilton Fleming, the dean’s son.”

Jake: “Jake Pratt.” “Well Hamilton Fleming, where do you suggest I hide my bike?”

Hamilton: “Let me hop on and I’ll take you there.”

Jake: “Bitch pad baby”, Jake said amused by his confidence.

Hamilton (thinking): This is going to be a very interesting summer session!

Scene fades to Jake’s dorm room. She’s sitting at her desk, typing away at her computer.

Hamilton walks in. . .

Hamilton: “Hey.”

Jake: “Feel free to barge right in.”

Hamilton: “Sorry.” “So, what brings you to Rawley?”

Jake: “Look I’ve been to six schools before this one and I finally decided to stay for awhile, if you must know.”

Hamilton: “Wow.” “Parents move a lot?”

Jake: “Nope.”

Hamilton: “Oh, so why would you keep switching?”

Jake: “Waiting for someone to notice.”

Hamilton: “They don’t know?”

Jake: “Nope.” “Get inside my mom’s e-mail account, send a letter as her, and her attorney wires the money wherever I say.” “The wonders of the digital age.”

Hamilton: “So, that’s how you scammed the single room.”

JAKE: “Scammed the single room?” “You should see what happens when I hack into your dad's database.”

Hamilton: “Hey!”

Jake: “If I can hack into NASA”,

Hamilton: “You hacked into NASA, that is so Wargames!”

Jake: “Well you can only stay on for like 30 seconds”, as she says this Hamilton pulls off her cap.

Hamilton: “Cool cap, smells good, oh I didn’t mean”,

Jake: “It’s ok.”

Hamilton: “I didn’t mean. . .

Jake: “Whatever.”

Hamilton: “But . . .

Jake: “It’s cool Hamilton.”

Hamilton hoped she hadn’t notice his blush. He couldn’t help it. She really smelled good. Jake was the coolest person he had known. She was quickly becoming a good friend to him and he had never had that. I have to find out what’s her deal!

Scene cuts to the roof where their trying to hack into a satellite feed. They talk for awhile and then something unexpected happens. . .

Hamilton: “Hacking into this satellite is going to be great!”

Jake: “Yeah”, she looks up at him and suddenly kisses him. Then realizing what she’s doing, she backs away. Their both in shock.

Jake: “Oh God I’m so sorry.” “I’m sorry.” “I’m sorry”, she runs off leaving Hamilton to his thoughts.

Hamilton (thinking): She kissed me. She must think that I think she’s gay! Wow though. That kiss was amazing. Should I tell her I know or wait this out? I should at least go see how she is.

Scene fades to Jake’s room. . . Hamilton walks in again.

HAMILTON: “Listen, I wanna say”,

JAKE: “That wasn't what you thought!”

HAMILTON: “I don't know where you're coming from but”,

JAKE: “I can explain!”

HAMILTON: “Ok, explain.”

JAKE: “It’s just that I got caught up in the moment, but I assure you Hamilton that it will never happen again.” “I’m not gay if that’s what you’re thinking.” “Friends?”, she says this offering her hand to him.

HAMILTON: “Yeah”, he says taking her hand. It felt so right in his. He quickly lets go, becoming uncomfortable. “I have to go.”

Jake: “See you later?”

Hamilton: “Yeah.”

Weeks pass by after this incident and they become the best of friends. The kiss was never mentioned again. During this time, Hamilton finds out a lot about Jake, including why she’s at Rawley. Despite that knowledge, he continues to hold on to her secret. He doesn’t know how to tell Jake. The fact was, he had fallen in love with his best friend and didn’t know if Jake felt the same way about him. One weekend though, things changed. . . Hamilton was walking up to Jakes room and overheard a phone conversation she was having with her mother. . .

Jake: Mom what does it cost you to take the weekend off to spend with me. It’s not like the agency can get by without you, she sayed this sarcastically. Mom you know what, you don’t know me at all, just forget it. Yeah sure next weekend. I won’t hold my breath. Bye. After this, she started crying. Speaking aloud, why do I always set myself up for this. I hate getting this emotional, especially over her. God I have to get out of here. She grabbed her helmet and headed for the door. Hamilton runs off to meet her at her bike.

When he gets there he hides not knowing how to approach her. She arrives, throws her helmet on the ground, sits down, and breaks down and cries. Hamilton comes out of his hiding place and sits next to her putting his arm around her and pulling her towards him. She resists at first but then just gives in and lets him hug her.

Hamilton: “I was coming to look for you and I accidentally heard the conversation you were having with your mother.” “I’m sorry things aren’t good between you and her.” “I know ho w hard it is to be ignored by a parent.” “If you want to talk about it you can, if not, I want you to know I’m here for you Jake, I always will be.”

Jake who had not said a word since he held her started crying even more.

Jake: “Thaks Hamilton.” “You’re a real good friend to me and I don’t even deserve it.” “I’ve deceived everyone.” “Especially you.”

Hamilton: “Jake, it’s ok”,

Jake: “No it’s not”, she says as she cuts him off. “I let everyone believe I’m someone I’m not just to get my mother’s attention and she above all other’s doesn’t even notice.” “She doesn’t care.” “Hamilton, I have to tell you something”, she gets caught off by Hamilton.

Hamilton: “Jake, I know.”

Jake: “Know what?”, she says uncertainly.

Hamilton: “I know you’re a girl, and it’s ok.”

Jake: “But how?” “How long?” “Are you mad?”, she asks all at once breaking into tears again. Hamilton wipes them away.

Hamilton: “I’ve known since the first day we met.” “I don’t know how people can be so blind.” “You’re very beautiful.” “And no I’m not mad, why would I be.” “This had nothing to do with me.” “I never told you because I wanted you to be comfortable with me and tell me at your own time.” “Your mother is very lucky to have such a wonderful daughter, and it’s sad that she doesn’t know that.” “You’re my best friend Jake, and I never had that.” “I could never be mad at you, I love you”, he said those last words with uncertainty not knowing how she would react.

Jake: “I don’t know what to say.” “I’m sorry for everything Hamilton.” “I love you too.” “I’ve loved you since I first kissed you.” “I still can’t believe I did and almost gave myself away.” “ I don’t even know why, I just, at that moment I felt drawn to you and I couldn’t help myself.” “I, she’s interrupted by him. He slowly pulls her towards him and kisses her. Kisses her with everything he’s had built up inside of him. With everything he feels for her. And she hungrily kisses him back, letting him know all that she is feeling. When they finally break away. . .

Jake: “Hamilton, thanks for being there for me.”

Hamilton: “Anytime.” “Now lets get you back inside.” “There are a few more things I want to find out about you!

Jake: “Oh really?”, she says with a smile.

Hamilton: “A man can try can’t he?”

Jake: “Yes he can, come on.” Hamilton answers her with a growl. They both break into laughter and head towards her room. . .
