its a sad song, and I like it

:) I am way too addicted to that movie...
"I'm going to miss you so
much!" Liz exclaimed as she brought her friend into a hug. Probably the millionth
hug that day, but neither cared. "What am I going to do without my wacky
sidekick? I'll have to find another one."
Maria playfully slapped her
friend. "You better not! I'm the only wacky sidekick you're gonna have.
Even if we are thousands of miles apart."
Liz smiled sorrowfully. "So,
you all packed and ready? All your bags are in the truck? You sure you don't
want me to drive down with you? I mean, I can be good company, and then you
won't have to drive so far by yourself. I mean, from Roswell to Boston, that's
a long drive."
Maria shook her head. "No,
I've been preparing myself for this for a while. After high school ended I told
you I was going to leave for Boston. Well, time's-a-wasting. Bye, Liz, I love
you."
Another hug, "Oh, I love you
too. Don't be a stranger to Roswell. Just because you're going to become some
hotshot Bostonian doesn't mean you can't visit your boring old friends in
Roswell. Or Alex and I will personally come visit you there."
"I'm counting on it,"
Maria said.
Liz looked at her watch.
"Damn, I have a meeting with Life Science publishers in like twenty
minutes so I have to go. Have a safe trip, and call me when you get there.
Bye."
With one final hug, Liz left Maria
standing alone in her room. She looked around and sighed. She and her mother
had already said their good-byes and Amy had gone with Jim for a vacation. Amy
considered not going, but Maria insisted she would be alright leaving by
herself.
She always thought that when she
left Roswell she would be feeling this great joy and happiness. She was leaving
the boringest town in the world. She didn't feel happy nor joy. She felt
lonely. She had thought Michael would show up to say their last good-byes. But
that didn't happen. She expected him to show up with white roses and tell her
how he loved her, and that he would wait for her, and never love anyone else.
But he didn't, and Maria knew better than to be disappointed because of it. She
turned herself around as she took one last look at her empty room. She walked
towards the door, happy with her last memory of her room. "Good-bye room,
good-bye Roswell."
Maria placed an overnight bag into
the passenger seat of the moving truck then secured the door in the back, to
make sure it wouldn't open up and all her things would be flung onto the
highway.
As Maria was getting into the
driver's seat, she didn't notice Michael walk up to the house. He put his head
next to her bedroom window and looked in. He pushed the window open and hopped
into her room. "Maria! Maria, you here?" He walked around the house a
bit to look for her. "Maria?" Silence. "Damn," he muttered
to himself.
Just then he heard an engine start
up and roar. "Oh no!" He rushed outside just in time to see a moving
truck drive onto the street and drive off.
Michael stood at the edge of her
driveway, staring at where her truck had driven off. "Bye, Maria."
Maria drove until the end of the
street and stopped the car. The realization that Michael hadn't come to say
good-bye to her finally hit, and it hit hard. "I need to learn not to
expect anything from men." She threw all her thoughts of turning back out
the window, started up the engine again and drove off towards the highway,
leaving behind Roswell and everyone that loved her in it.
The End
