timeline-beginning of season 2. Andie and Jack came to Capeside but Andie and
Pacey never went out nor did Dawson and Joey date.
Chapter 10
Pacey could
not wait for the school day to be over. Not only because he hated school, but
because he had way to much his mind. There was no way he could concentrate on
school work; not that he did any ways. He was just about to enter the
cafeteria for lunch, which he looked forward to because he had lunch with Joey,
when he heard Dawson call his name.
Dawson- Pacey!
Pacey- Oh, hey D. What's up?
Dawson- Uhh, not much.
Pacey- So?
Dawson- So what?
Pacey- C'mon, don't play dumb.
What happened with Jen?
Dawson- Nothing.
Pacey- What do you mean nothing?
Dawson- Well, I didn't actually
say anything to her.
Pacey- Ok, Dawson, do not be a
fool. Jen is beautiful, and smart, and funny, and someone around this hellish
place is going to snag her and you, my friend, will be left in the dust. Unless
of course, you're the one that snags her. So stop being a scared little baby
and tell her how you feel.
Dawson- I'm not being a baby.
But...you're right. I think I'll talk to her tonight.
Pacey- Ok, D. But you better
hurry. (Pacey said with a nod of his head to somewhere behind Dawson.)
Dawson turned
around and saw Jen talking a football player. He turned back to say something
to Pacey, but he was gone.
Pacey entered
the cafeteria and immediately saw Joey saving a seat for him.
Pacey- Hey.
Joey- Hi. I didn't think you were
coming.
Pacey- What?! And miss the
Capeside High food that dates back to the stone ages? You've got to be kidding!
Joey- Tell me about it. My meet
loaf is still breathing. You know what I have the biggest craving for?
Pacey- What?
Joey- Chopped ham and pickle.
When I was younger, my mom used to make it for me. She would put mustard on the
bread and out it all together and it would just be delicious. She would always
include a small bag of potato chips and a napkin that
would have a message on it like, 'have a great day at school, love mom'. I used
to look forward to lunchtime so much.
Pacey- Don't worry Jo. One day,
you'll eat a chopped ham and pickle sandwich again.
They both
started laughing.
Pacey- Ok, that didn't come out
right.
Joey- Yeah, I could tell.
Pacey- What I meant was... no
matter what happens in life, you know you'll always have your mom to turn to.
You know your mom will love you unconditionally, and would never let anything
happen to you. I think you really miss that feeling Jo. But don't worry, 'cause
one day you will meet one lucky guy who is gonna love you so much. And you'll
feel that same kind of security.
Joey- Thanks Pace.
Pacey- For what?
Joey- For always making me feel
better.
Pacey- My pleasure.
Just then the
bell rang.
Pacey- Uugg!!! Trigonometry
calls.
Joey- I'll meet you at your
locker at the end of the day so we can walk home together, ok?
Pacey- I look forward to it.
And they both
left to go to their next classes.
Pacey was so
happy when the bell rang, announcing the end of the school day. He rushed out
of his classroom and to his locker, where he saw Joey waiting for him.
Joey- Hey stranger, what took ya
so long?
Pacey- Sorry. During class, I was
having this amazing dream that I didn't really want to wake up from.
Joey- And who says the youth of
America is in trouble?
Pacey- Well, before you get all
philosophical on me, can me start home?
Joey- Home? Oh, you mean my
home?
Pacey- You pain me, Josephine.
Joey- Yeah right Witter. C'mon,
lets go home.
Pacey- Good idea.
Pacey and Joey
walked back to the B&B. During the walk they did their usual fun loving
banter. Then they reached the B&B, and both stopped dead in their tracks.
They both stopped dead in their tracks because, parked in the B&B driveway
was... Sheriff John Witters car.
