timeline-beginning of season 2. Andie and Jack came to Capeside but Andie and Pacey never went out nor did Dawson and Joey date.

Chapter 9

    After Pacey and Joey arrived at the B&B, which was about 2:15, they decided to just lounge and watch movies. They thought they'd take advantage of their last day of the weekend. At about 3:00 they heard a knock at the door.

Joey- I better go get that.

Pacey- Ok.

    Joey walked to the front door and put on a smile, in case it was someone looking for a room.

Joey- Welcome to the...oh hey guys.

Jen&Dawson- Hey.

Dawson- I needed to talk to Pace and Jen wanted to talk to you so we figured after having lunch we'd just hop on over.

Jen- Unless of course this is an inconvenient time.

Joey- No, this is fine. Come on in.

    Joey led them into her room.

Joey- Pace, look who's here.

Pacey- Oh, hey guys!

Jen- Hey, Pace.

Dawson- Pacey wanna go outside with me? I have some thing I need to talk to you about.

Pacey- Sure, let me just get my jacket.

    Pacey got his jacket and the boys left and went into the backyard of the B&B.

Jen- Good, they're gone.

Joey- What, something on your mind too?

Jen- Well, now that you mention it, yes, actually.

Joey- And what would that be?

Jen- Well, what's going on with Pacey? I mean one minute it's constant fighting and then next he's living with you. I mean c'mon, it's a little suspicious.

Joey- Me and Pacey have been friends for most of our lives. Just because we bicker doesn't mean that we don't care about each other as friends.

Jen- Of course not... but why wouldn't he go stay with Dawson? I mean, it doesn't make much sense.

Joey- Well he was having some trouble at home, nothing serious, and we bumped into each other and I could tell something was up. I made him spill about what was bothering him and insisted he stay here. It was a complete spur of the moment thing.

Jen- Mh-hm. Joey, are you developing something for Pacey?

Joey- Pacey?! No, Jen I don't think so. Sure I like and care about him as a friend but the feelings stop there. Believe me. I am absolutely not developing something for Pacey Witter.

Jen- Ok, no need to get all defensive.

    Now Jen knew for sure that something was   up with Pacey and Joey.

    Outside the boys were having a similar conversation.

Pacey- So what is it you wanted to talk about?

Dawson- Well, before we get into that, tell me about this whole living with Joey thing.

Pacey- It's not a big deal. Things at home were hard so I decided to leave for a while.

Dawson- Well, why wouldn't you come to my house?

Pacey- D, like I said before it all just kind of happened. It's nothing personal. Enough about that, what did you need to talk about?

Dawson- Well it's about Jen.

Pacey- Color me shocked.

Dawson- Funny, Pace. Any ways, lately we've been hanging out more and I've some to realize that I miss her. I miss having her as my girlfriend.

Pacey- So what's the problem?

Dawson- Well what if she doesn't feel the same way? What if I try to get back with her and she rejects me?

Pacey- Dawson, come on. It's so obvious she likes you. Just talk to her man. I mean, what if because of that fear, you never did anything? Could you live with the fact that for the rest of your life you'll have to dwell on what could have been?

Dawson- Ya know Pace, you're right. I will talk to her. When we leave I'm gonna tell her how I feel. And if I get rejected, I'm going to kill you.

Pacey- Ok, D. Well then I really hope she doesn't reject you.

Dawson- Me too, Pace. Me too.

    Back inside Joeys room.

Joey- So what's going on with you and Dawson? You guys have been hanging out a lot lately. Thinking about rekindling the old flame?

    Now Jen knew for sure something was up with Pacey and Joey because Joey didn't seem at all threatened at the idea of Jen and Dawson.

Jen- I don't know. I mean, I still like him, but I don't think he feels the same way.

Joey- I wouldn't be so sure.

Jen- Really? I've been thinking about talking to him but..

Joey- I think you should.

Jen- Really?

Joey- Yeah. C'mon Jen, you're brave. This should be a piece of cake for you.

Jen- Ya know what Joey? I think I will talk to him. Thanks.

Joey- Sure.

    Just then Pacey and Dawson entered the room.

Dawson- Jen, ya wanna hit the road?

Jen- Sure. Joey I'll call you later.

Joey- Ok bye guys.

Jen- Bye.

Pacey- C-ya later.

Dawson- Sure thing.

    And Dawson and Jen left. Joey and Pacey exchanged knowing glances.

Pacey- Those two need to get a clue.

Joey- Tell me about it.
