Here you will learn about Qigong, the Chinese exercise.
Lets start out with an introduction.
Introduction:
Ki has many names. Prana, Shakti, Chi, Ki, Psi, Vital Force, Orenda and Spirit are just a few out of all of them. However, the ancient Taosists called it Qi (chi).
Intro to Qi:
Qi can be thought of Basic Life Force. Qi also can be thought of as electricity. It can't be seen with the naked eye (Without training), yet it can be felt. It is what gives us the energetic sense. It warms us and keeps our organs in their places, as well as direct movement.
There is different types of Qi such as Wei Qi. Wei Qi is kind of like a shield in between our muscles and skin. Its job is to keep out invading Pathogens. Whenever our Wei Qi is low, we become less resistant to Colds and the Flu, plus other Viral Invasions.
Another type of Qi is organ Qi. Its objective is strengthening and maintaining integrity in each organ in our bodys. When organ Qi is weakened, our organs suffer, causing breathing problems, etc.
Another type of Qi is called Meridian Qi. It travels through your Meridians, linking organs with each other and to organ systems and helping blood move and stay in its Meridians.
Intro to Qigong:
Qigong (Pronounced Chi Kung) is a unique Chinese excercise system. Practitioners build up their health and prevent illness by combining the disciplines of the mind, body and your Qi. Qigong draws on five main elements such as regulating the body, movement of the limbs, regulating the mind, regulating the breath, and self-massage.
The Japanese Kanji for Ki.
