The ideas surrounding
life after death
are man made, and ideas
such as this
[where did we come from,
where are we
going]have inspired
humans to conjure
up fantastical stories
and myths.
The thing is however,
people seem to
actually believe these
stories. Perhaps
something in their lives
have triggered
such a reaction to a
particular
variation to the life
after death
stories. Perhaps itis
simply easier
to believe. Whatever
the reason, I think that it a lovely idea to
wish for a utopian land
and eternal existence, but what signs have
we that such a fate
can exist other than our wishful thinking? The
idea of life after death
rides strongly on the idea that we have
souls, for without souls,
we could not exist without our bodies.
i.e. when our bodies
die we die. I want to believe that we have
souls and that soul
and body are separate entities, but it’s really
just another accepted
myth.
