How can we justify paying
an actor
millions of dollars
for what they
do when young people
are surrendering
their lives to fight
in wars and only
get a fraction of that
price? I’m
not saying pay soldiers
millions,
because people would
treat it as a get
rich quick scheme and
totally miss
the point of fighting.
Not that I
agree with war, but
if someone was
going to fight in a
war, I’d rather it be for their beliefs than for the big payoff if they
come home alive.
Amazingly, actors are
being paid more and more, meaning that
there’s more competition
and more failed actors than ever
before. Sure people
would say they’re not to doing it for the
money, but if that were
so, how come the sudden increase and
interest in this occupation?
Surely the millions awarded to those
that ‘make it’ must
be some incentive. OK, I gotta admit, some
actors are good at what
they do, but to be paid that much money
for that little work
is appalling. There are kids in third world
countries chained up
making matchsticks who never see a cent.
tell me actors are deserving…
It’s funny, actors now
expect to be paid more so, as these
expectations skyrocket,
the money has to come from
somewhere, and funnily
enough it’s from you. I’m not saying I’m
not to blame, coz I
am, but I’d rather pay .50c to go to the
movies where actors
get paid reasonably for what they do and
see who really doesn’t
do it for the money. Actors, especially
female actors don’t
have to be attractive to make it anymore
either, which is a good
thing I suppose, only it helps to be
underweight.
P.S I'm talking about
Hollywood types here. Not your everyday
Actors that maybe
work for theatre in local clubs etc. But even
some small time media
e.g. commercials are pretty up there. It's
like they've struck
a jackpot if they get the job.
